Thought as fiction
DIR By: Plato

There are many "types" of people in the world but spiritually it
boils down to only two. Jed broke it down to basically zombies
and vampires or caterpillars and butterflies and while no
metaphor is perfect and Jed's have all kinds of holes and
caveats, let's suspend opinions just long enough to suppose that
Jed is correct. That leaves the question; what exactly is it
that differentiates these two types of people?
Here the difference is really this simple, zombies and
caterpillars believe that the majority of their thoughts are
"true" or non-fiction. They never realize that their entire
collection of life events (memories) is just a fiction. They see
themselves and their "story" as non-fiction or the absolute
truth of their existence, they have no idea that they are
hopelessly caught in Maya's veils, the Matrix... Fiction. They
use this fictitious benchmark (life story) when interpreting new
experiences and their thoughts about those experiences; if it
fits with their story then it's "true" if not it must be false.
It's no wonder nothing ever comes clean in the wash for these
people when the entire basis for judgement of one's experiences
and thoughts is based solely on a work of fiction! People
maneuver through life using the interpretations of a fictional
character's perspective about events that never actually
happened and then wonder why nothing ever seems to fit, nothing
works out.
Those who have tight-roped over to the non-fiction section
(vampire's and butterflies) have no such false baseline getting
in the way of their experience of life's events. It's one to
one, event happens, mind engages event on it's own terms and
deals with it. Thats it, clean, crisp and without a mountain of
beliefs, fears and storytelling. The only way across that tight
rope tho is the systematic release of all the opinions and
beliefs you've ever held or still hold. Daunting eh?
That's why Jed said you would have to be crazy or totally
desperate to even try, he suggests you don't, unless you have no
choice. It's really "camel through a needle's eye" kinda stuff,
from over there in fiction it feels like climbing Everest but
from over here, in the non-fiction section, it seemed like
stepping up onto a curb.

Does that include feelings and experiences too? All fiction?
**oops just re read what you wrote, and you meant ALL OF IT is
fiction, so I withdraw my comment unless you meant otherwise.

Yes. Until one finally peels back all the layers of the human
fiction called "reality" which encompasses money and politicians
and science and religion and corporations and attorney's and
insurance and language and race and history and future and on
and on and on... until one pulls all that back to the core of
"objective reality" dirt, rocks, trees and animals (humans just
being one of a myriad of these life forms, no more important and
no less) until one experiences this ultimate truth in all it's
horror and beauty, one's experiences will ALWAYS be seen through
the fictional prism of humanity and all it's beliefs.
What could experiences and the feelings based on the thoughts
about those experiences ever be but a fiction, when experienced,
thought and felt through this "story of humanity"?
For example, there was a time that I would have happily died in
defense of my beliefs in Mormonism, would you? Of course not,
but that was my "sacred cow" and the terrorists who flew planes
into the towers? Just dying for their beliefs that they
appropriated through the fiction of humanity. Autolysis is just
the process of slaughtering all of "your" sacred cows. Can you
imagine a hindu mystic getting out his machete and hacking the
heads off of all the cattle he had been feeding, massaging and
revering his entire life? That is why this process is the
hardest thing you will ever do.
It was easy for the black guy who played "Chef" on South Park to
skewer the Mormons, the Catholics, the Hollywood elite and
everyone else that South Park took aim at, he got paid a lot of
money to do so but when they went after Scientology he quit the
show, they were going after HIS sacred cow and now they were out
of line. He cut off his nose to spite his face because he was
being controlled by the fiction of humanity, he hadn't done the
work (even tho Scientology was supposed to elevate him above
such things).
Until you peel it all back, yours and all of humanity's beliefs,
you can never see the world clearly, you will always be living
in a fiction and all of your opinions will be incorrect because
your baseline is false, based on your tribe's version of the
fiction of humanity.

I guess I need to elaborate on one point here. When I say
"events that actually never happened" I am not saying that an
event didn't happen, yes your dad hit you in the head with a
baseball bat when you were 5 years old, what "didn't actually
happen" is the story you made up about it, your story is an
amalgam of your experience and the experiences of others which
again are fiction, just the stories they made up. Your story is
your dad was being careless (didn't care about you) and split
your head open so he must not love and care for "me". Your mom
and dad got divorced and your mom's story corroborates yours
because he was an a$$hole.
But what really happened? A piece of wood struck a piece of
bone, thats it. Everything beyond that is a human story and that
story colors every other perception you ever have, it's the
reason you don't trust men and on and on and on....

Your statement: A piece of wood struck a piece of bone, thats
it. Just more gaslighting for the masses, the child is told
there is something wrong with him, all the while abusive
individuals and harmful societal structures around them continue
to do harm.

Meanwhile a baby is eaten alive in nature while you parade
around acting like humans are the only victims in the game of
life. Congratulations arent you and your stories special

I think it's funny that people cling to these stories about
harmful societal structures and people. Like wake up. The world
at least in my experience is not nice. It would serve people to
get real about that fact and if anything grow up and toughen up.
That's something you can at least take into your own hands. Not
sure what crying about it and bellyaching to each other actually
accomplishes.
PS doesn't seem that she's all that interested in what you and I
are saying so much as proving her own beliefs true any ways
Steve. Oh well, what's new. Having actual depth in conversation
seeming increasingly rare these days. Another great reason to
stop looking out there for anything at all and zero in.

Sorry, was out of town for a week, I think Justin has sussed
this out in his comments, yes the child always internalizes such
events and suffers on their way to adulthood (about 21) but then
comes a choice, continue to blame others for their predicament
for the rest of their life, clinging to childhood victim stories
and consequently wasting the rest of their existence... or take
responsibility for their situation by ending the blame game,
forgiveness is helpful here, of self and others and then take
that bold step into adulthood. This isn't awakening, far from it
but it is a step in the right direction if one is looking to
improve their life, their outlook and the lives of those around
you.
By the time awakening shows up, you will have realized that life
is just the story you tell to yourself. If your mind is busy
fabricating victim stories, you will be a mess. All stories are
fiction, why not live a heroic version of your story? I've lived
both, the latter is far preferable.
And I understand if you cannot grasp this concept now, few ever
grasp it but at least now you have the answer and maybe you will
remember it when you are ready to step out of victimhood and
into adulthood.

This is the problem with grey, no one stands up for anything,
they just go along with any crazy story and say it’s all good.
It's just a story. Even knocking the kids head off. Somehow we
went from bone to bat to animals eating their young to being
accused of being special and just grow the f...k up. There is no
way that any counter question or statement will make any
difference here.
What/who are you? In one sentence or two. In your own words, not
Jed's.

The beginning and the end, nothing and everything, all things
begin here when eye lids arise and all things end here when eye
lids close. Beyond that it is not my job to know, understand,
make up or believe another's story of what "I" is, "I" did that
for 50+ years, it didn't/doesn't work. This is liberation and it
is lovely.
There is no grey here, I reject all crazy stories and do not go
along with them but I'm an equal opportunity rejectionist; I
reject all seemingly sane stories as well. The actual truth of
the bat/bone story is; the child was told to wait on the bench
while the father took his turn at bat, because the child didn't
do as it was told and chose to follow the father, it ended up
getting hit on the swing follow through. Now who's at fault? The
mother for lying to the child about how it got the scar? The
father for not making sure the child obeyed? The child for
disobeying? The owner of the baseball field for allowing a child
in the field of play? Abner Doubleday for inventing baseball? Or
is the answer finally that the entire human race is wrong and
that our collective desire to fix problems that aren't there and
blame others for mistakes that never happened is the problem?
Like Howard Jones sang, "No one, No one ever, is to blame". In
this existence the only story that makes sense and creates total
freedom from guilt/blame is; a piece of wood struck a piece of
bone. From this position one can create any world they want to
live in, from all the other positions one gets stuck in Maya's
webs of guilt, blame and punishment, the rollercoaster of life.
No thanks.
If you want to stand up for something then you can do it but
judging, blaming and punishing others for not creating a world
that you'd like to live in seems a fruitless and unnecessarily
painful path to take through life.
