Certainly supports consciousness affecting reality.

There are as many variations on this theme as there are
proponents of it. I've always tended to shy away from the more
"woo woo" versions, not because they don't work but more from an
aversion to the type of personality that tends to be an
advocate. Rational, scientific or first hand reports only please
is where my mind tends to meander, that being said I think this
dovetails nicely with the idea from Jed (and many others) that
if you aren't clear (done autolysis) then by definition your
intention will be unclear, convoluted with a life's worth of
programming, consequently results will be tainted as well.

And all this, the above, comes from the idea of being someone,
something or anything that is actually doing something in this
universe... and that's the mistake.

Yes, for those who are not "done" this can be a trap, a place
from which their ego will "try" to build up an "I" based world
from a "me" centric viewpoint. There is another reality for
those who are living an ego depleted post "questioning"
existence; continuing to accentuate "flow" in one's existence.
First and foremost this means continuing to question oneself and
all one's actions, ie. the "razors edge" of existence. For those
living "question free" there is still an existence in which to
indulge one's thoughts on consciousness, one need not be
reminded by others of the insignificance of the "I" at every
juncture (which seems you're only input here) but can and will
explore themes consistent with non dual concepts, flow and the
power of focusing intention being relevant in that regard, if
you find this type of discussion irrelevant, great, don't
involve yourself, we have your input on these types of
conversations ad nauseum.

May take a while 'til rational science figures out how the
intuitive, non-linear gut (subconscious) works.

Yeah, it takes science awhile on most issues because it doesn't
have the liberty to jump to silly conclusions like the average
human does.

Hi guys, just passing through again... I've been skimming recent
conversations over the past few months and miss mixing it up
with y'all... just wanted to join in a bit, as proof-of-life
from Down-Under.
That robot experiment was both elegant and amazing - although I
wonder if the conclusions are valid...? It seems to point
towards some kind of quantum entanglement...but what...?
Love...?
That's also a very good article on the
microbiome-gut-brain...mind axis, thank you Joanna! Partnered
with my wife - who is a nutritional gut health specialist -
we're working in this very area, developing psychoeducational
tools to help clients manage stress and other health conditions
through nutritional and behavioural interventions.
An allied area is Polyvagal Theory, that uses the research of Dr
Stephen Porges and the applied therapeutics of Deb Dana and
others, using physiological interventions (eg., breathwork) to
teach effective mood regulation...the Vagus Nerve you may
recall, dipping as it does right down into the area occupied by
the bulk of the gut microbiome, is considered (via its
bi-directional connection to the base of the brain) the main
'conduit' as it were for our 'gut feelings', those seeming
intuitive responses that are the product of pre-conscious
neuroception...sometimes called "enteroception" and mistaken for
otherworldly premonitions and so forth.
...Seeing as we're sharing links, Joanna's reference also
reminded me of this blog post I read last year that piqued my
interest as a really interesting twist on our ideas of how
consciousness may have evolved (pretending for a moment that Jed
could possibly be, erm, 'putting Descartes before the horse'...)

My first teacher was very big on controlling the subconscious.
Affirmations, guided meditations, all kinds of methods of
healing. His "wife" was never good enough for him. In the end
what "she" created him was.. diabetes.
According to Louise Hay: "Diabetes (Hyperglycemia, Mellitus) –
Probable Cause: Longing for what might have been. A great need
to control."
Ironically he was a big fan of Louise.
Also reminds me of Anita Moorjani's book about her journey with
cancer, where she says something like "so what I was eating
healthy, I was doing it from a place of fear, not love". The
power of intention.

That's where I went with it Mike (Welcome back!!) it reminded me
of the slit experiment where they sent photons through two slits
and what they discovered was the fact that the viewer, rather
than being independent, actually ended up impacting the results
of the experiment, Einstein's "spooky action at a distance" so
to speak... :D @ Descartes' horse ;D
That was an interesting blog post, it made me think of how this
mind works through it 1st order (survival) and then it's second
order (metaphorical) and the results of process at this point
seem to be "loving nihilism"... or a seemingly loving, deity
informed, realization that "all is well and nothing matters"
position from where mind no longer works problems from
desperation and anxiety but tends to find answers seemingly
everywhere, to first order issues which at the end of the day,
nourishes those in my sphere of influence, which ends up being
the only issue of need for animals really...
