The Social Dilema

This Movie nails so many reasons for the current dilemmas facing
us that it should be viewed by every human with a phone. The
latest Sam Harris podcast "Making Sense" is with the main guy in
the movie and is stunning for it's clarity on issues that seem
so effing muddled that it seems no one can solve them.
If you've seen or heard these things I'd like to hear responses
here...

I've heard about the documentary, but did not see it. I will try

Me... No Netflix, yes social media, but no dilemma realized...
so, I'm curious what that dilemma should or could be, if any.
But! Haven't watched it yet... so, don't know. Must say I'm not
sure if I am interested to see it, so until that question is
answered, I probably won't watch it.
Don't think this post is really good English, but if you read it
out loud with an Indian accent, it will all make sense.

I'm in 14 minutes and thinking about not seeing the rest,
because it really doesn't concern me. If social media is about
changing my mind so I will buy junk from the advertisers who pay
the social media to change my mind, they're doing the worst job
ever.
Maybe other people, less aware than me, or less awaken in, or
out of the dreamstate than me, will fall for that crap, but I
don't see that happening around me. So I really see no dilemma
and no problem.
I will click play again and see how long it will keep me
entertained.

I thought the interesting part about this is that AI is now
making the choices for what people see based on what they have
looked for in the past when it comes to searches and social
media on the interwebz. I'm about as secluded from society as
one can get and yet the choices that society makes do affect
existence somewhat, not that there's anything to be done about
it, just find it an interesting turn of events... AI was always
an "in the future" type of thing, the future is now I guess.

Hi guys, been racing against the calendar to finish my studies
before the New Year...ain't gonna happen, but it's been a hell
of a ride! :) ...am only 2 more practicals and 5 units away
from completion, so looking to be Feb 2021...what a year!
Saw The Social Dilemma - and The Big Hack as well. Tristan

trying to build into a movement...funny how social media seems
to be dragging its heels about helping spread it... ;D Joe Rogan
did a good interview with him as well.
Takes me back to Adam Curtis and his Hypernormalisation
documentary that blew my f^cking mind - still does when I think
of all that's happened since it was made.
...But when you think that there isn't one experience that is
NOT of the mind, then it's easy to see how and why narrative
management is really everything here - and one of my favourite
post-enlightenment writers, Caitlin Johnstone, is all over that.
Her chosen vehicle is usually (and she seems sometimes quite
frothy about) contemporary geo-politics, but she is really
always offering pointers (often in the form of poems, to
punctuate her journalism) to the conscious substrate beneath it
all, as in

Thanks for that post B, I'll check out Johnstone, watched a
series of Adam Curtis documentaries on the 20th century, seems
they were done in the 70's or 80's but my god how revealing they
are on how several brilliant people have programmed us all, all
of society, totally fascinating. I watched them probably 8 years
ago during my search phase, they really helped me start to go
deep in breaking up societal programming.
