nothing, BUT duality'. Watts has an ability to place things in
very clear terms, but I bet most of his audience perceives his
words purely academically. One has to arrive at that same
understanding independently, via own process and effort. Or else
it is just another guru placing their understanding in one's
       Mind.

       Justin,
Did you try the breathing exercise? If so, did you experience
       the DMT effect?

I did Ray. I'm actually doing his whole method if for no other
reason than pushing my mind past its pain threshold. The
breathing is neat. Cold immersion is more interesting to me in
that it has to be dealt with now, no time to think about it. The
cold kinda forces the breathing upon you. I like it and find it
       quite useful.
Do you have any experience with this stuff?

That was very cleverly placed ray ;)
I never "woke up" in the sense that is often described. Ya know,
total loss of self...In fact, I would challenge anyone to jump
into an ice bath and claim to "not exist." In the same manner
that I challenged fritz to light himself on fire and express the
sentiment that " none of its real." ::)
I done called bullsh*t long ago but it's not my bullshit*t to
       call so who cares?
The method is just a method to bypass the mental garbage that
gets triggered in what's percieved as a dangerous situation. Jed
bypassed the BS mentally. Conceptually. Add the body and I've
discovered a new depth. Further indeed.

I didn't understand the "no self" until it showed up, it's not
that there's no body, no exterior, nothing happening out there,
no, it's all there and is happening, the no "self" is just the
mental construct of self, the idea born of all those experiences
and judgements made and attitudes bought into or discarded...
who we "think" we are that's a fiction, if I jumped into cold
water then the body would react and thoughts and ideas about all
of it would arise, the knowledge that those thoughts aren't "me"
is all that is meant by "no self".
When that's the abiding sense of it all then one is awake, free
to be the self outside of the Matrix so to speak, thats why it's
just not a big deal when it happens and the stunning thing is
that it was so difficult to find in the first place, that and
watching all the others still running on the treadmill I just
       got stepped off of...
BTW, the book Stealing Fire is an amazing read, Ray will love
it. It's about the continued and ramping up effort from all
corners to figure out how people access and live in flow, it's
input ranges from CIA studies in brain washing to the Mormon
guitarist in Maroon five, from Burning Man to winged suit
flying, from Joseph Smith's vision to Ken Keasey stealing LSD
from the CIA and opening the door to drug induced enlightenment.
In the end it's really mostly about all the efforts to shortcut
8 years in a monastery or a lifetime of yoga, using technology
to get there faster, it's aim, all of it, falls short of just
doing 2 years of Autolisys, mostly because the flow that these
shortcuts seem to induce is always fleeting, whereas doing the
real work can get abiding results but it's still a great read
       none the less.
       Cheers ;)
