Times Run Out

This poem was inspired by my father, who recently, suddenly fell
ill..........
Times Run Out
I woke one day and discovered time ran out
This distressed me so, I wanted to shout
I took each day, as it came
Never really thinking about times silly game
You must live your life to the fullest each and every day
Never take for granted, you will be blessed with the gift of
life’s way
You must take life and grab it with both hands
After all, that was God’s plan
If you squander your time and neglect the ones you love
Time will run out on you and creep up on you like a shove
Tell your loved ones, that you love them each and every day
You never know when life will have nothing else to say
You lay down, to go to sleep
Then you find yourself counting sheep
You wonder why this is so
You suddenly remember you forgot to tell someone you love
goodbye, they had to go
Something happens and life is no more
You wish you had time back, so your heart won’t be so sore
You will feel this pain till death comes a knocking
When times runs out, it is always shocking
Time… isn't on our side
