       Kacars Mysteries

As mentioned in several PIREP's I do believe that Kacars
occasionaly records faulty information, especially with respect
to landing pitch attitude and landing rate.
On my last flight and landing for example, kacars showed a
landing rate of over 2000 and a pitch attitude of 0. Below is a
screen shot of this landing and it shows a PA of about +3
degrees and the landing was fairly smooth. Also I don't
understand why kacars shows pitch attitude as a -(negative)
during a take off, when in fact the aircraft pitch attitude is
       +(positive).

       Hi Herman
Kacars is a bit of a mystery. TBH, I don't pay a great deal of
attention to it for the very reasons you've outlined.
The most frustrating thing (for me anyway) is the
'Taxiing/Arrived' part. It will show mistakes like stalls etc.
But as a tool for an accurate analysis of your/our flights, then
       it's inadequate. It's certainly not a 'Black Box' ;)
As to what to do about it, that's a decision which lies with our
Pres, Dave. I'm not sure if comes as part of the whole package.
       wonder what other VA's use?
       Cheers
       Ralph (SAS 0237)

Thank you Ralph for your reply.
I don't know if any corrections can be made to kacars. I suppose
it really is not such a high priority item. I think because it
seems to be OK for 90% of the time we can accept the occasional
       error.
       Cheers; Herman

@Herman : the "kACARS mystery" is mostly caused by pausing and
viewing "instant replay" with kACARS still running.
The program doesn't handle that correctly.
