       Approaching Innsbruck (LOWI)

       If you fly under ATC-guidance and they assign you a visual APPR
       RWY 8 you'll never make it! On final 7 NM out you will still be
       at ALT 9000 ft and need to get rid of 7000 ft until touchdown.
       Impossible since you are not flying a Fighter-Jet. Instead, you
       have to ignore ATC-Instructions and divert to the left as soon
       as your heading is about 080 and descend into the valley, follow
       the valley in a steady descent and maintain an ALT of about 1200
       ft AGL until you have LOWI in sight. By than have your cockpit
       check completed, don't forget the gear otherwise you are in for
       some ice skating. Approaching Innsbruck is interesting and
       challenging. But its also good fun and a chance to test your
       skills and reactions. - And it is not very far from the RW APPR.
       Have fun! Using LOWI Approach Chart can be helpful also. Pilots
       to whom Approach Charts are still a 'sealed book' and somewhat
       of a 'mystery' are recommended to go to HAG's Information
       section and read the very instructive and easy to understand
       contribution on the subject by our CEO Dave Reed. Happy landings

       LOWI Innsbruck approach is part of the newly uploaded Austrain
       Airlines Hawker-Siddely 748 fligths.
       Captain Ludolphi caught me on this, as I still have to write the
       announcement  :-[ .
       Can be selected under "HS748 AUA".
