Generating electrical energy from snow, is it possible

How do you see the political situation of European social
democracy? To answer this question, I would like to add
something to what I said when responding to your previous
concern and return to your question of the extent to which
Chancellor Scholz and the German Social Democratic Party can
implement the projects provided for in this coalition agreement.
One of the most important points, taking into account that your
question already describes the heterogeneous reality of
socialist and social democratic parties in Europe, is that there
is a common element in all Western countries: the growing power
of extremists and populists of right.

power of these currents. Social democrats
and greens tend to prioritize the social needs of citizens and
the environmental sustainability that the country needs. One
might think that this is perhaps not so compatible with the
views of liberals. However, the liberals are deeply important
because they represent a party that firmly defends democracy,
respect for institutions and the defense of constitutional
norms. And social democrats do it too.

For us, these democratic principles are non-negotiable. This is
a common starting point for socialists and social democrats on
the continent. Indeed, as you point out, social democrats are
governing in a good number of countries. In some of them, such
as the Scandinavian ones, these are minority governments, all
led by young women, which constitutes a very auspicious novelty
of this time. In Germany we are leading a coalition government,
as are the Spanish socialists. In Portugal, the Socialist Party
not only governs, but has also been deeply strengthened in the
last electoral process. And in all these cases the main
challenge remains the one I have raised: fighting the growing
extreme right.
