Candlepaw laughed shortly and nodded in agreement, smiling.
"Mhm! Not to mention we have warm weather more often than
others," she added, then froze when a certain scent reached her.
Oh StarClan. She spun around to see Riptidepaw, chomping down on
a squirrel like he had been here the whole time.

authority to. for all he knew, the tom could be here on special

The deputy apprentice finished the squirrel, then looked up to
see Candlepaw sitting there. He met her eyes and smiled, walking
over to her. "Hey," Riptidepaw greeted her, sitting beside her.

Candlepaw flattened her orange-ringed ears to her sleek head and
continued to stare wide-eyed at Riptidepaw. The bicolor ragdoll
wrapped her furry tail tightly around her little paws, trying to
seem cautious, and at the same time holding back a smile that
was happy to see him. She knew she shouldn't be happy, though.
He walked right into their camp! She didn't want to yell at him,
but she really didn't want to be disloyal to her Clan either.
"You know you're going to have to pay for that squirrel, right?"
the flame point muttered coldly, and inwardly sarcastic.

He didn't react to Scourgepaw, simply nodding and replying,
"I'll bring you one tomorrow, then." Riptidepaw then smirked at
her, nudging her gently. "Don't act as if you're not happy to
see me," he teased.
