Re: The White Rabbit (Night, light rain, open)

(ooc: sure and its two spicy and one sweet)
Milly relaxed, tucking a loose strand of black hair behind her
ear, while up for the game she was a bit calmer than the other
two. Saras short blonde hair was haphazardly pushed back out of
her face, her light blue eyes playful as she wondered if Div
would make the right guesses. Amber was just as excited, but a
bit more impatient as she tapped her nail polished red finger on
the table, smirking mischievously. Jade was the calmest, besides
Milly, her brown hair hung down while she quietly sipped her
water and waited for his answers.

Div looked through the tablet. Wow, there were a lot of items
here. "Give me just a sec." After about fifteen seconds, he
looked up.
"Okay, I'll start with the most obvious." He pointed towards
Jade. "Jade, you seem pretty modest, kind,..." He paused
dramatically and looked up with a grin on his face. "Sweet. To
compliment such a personality, how about trying our award
winning strawberry dream cake." He pulled up the image on the
tablet and turned it around for her to see.
"Made with fresh strawberries brought in only an hour or so ago,
cashew nuts for a creamy texture, all on a sponge cake. There's
more here but you get the idea."
He turned the tablet back around.
"Okay, Milly next. lemme see here..."
He looked through the options again. "Hmm... Okay I got it." He
looked up.
"You look like a woman who likes to take time and enjoy some of
the simpler things in life. May I suggest," He rotated the
tablet around for her to see. A shrimp cocktail was on the
screen. "This. The shrimp cocktail is a dish that is a favorite
amungst many. A little bit spicy, a little bit sweet, it is a
dish that is classy and stylish. Like yourself might I add." Div
winked before looking back at the tablet.
This seemed to be going well so far. He HAD to be right...
right?
"Okay, so now for the two spicy dishes.
He looked up to see Amber who was leaning forward who seemed to
be getting more restless by the minute. "Sorry for the delay
Amber, beautiful nails by the way." he looked back down ath e
tablet. He smiled and looked up a moment later.
"Amber, I got just the thing. It's fun, it's quick, heck, you
can even eat them while doing two or three other things. Pepper
Bites." he turned the tablet around to show a plate full of
breaded small nuggets. Jalapeno peppers and spiced cream cheese
wrapped in a crisp, crunchy breaded coating Not spicy enough?
You can even get it with spicy tuna or salmon!" Div smiled. He
was actually starting to make himself hungry.
"And last but not least, Sara." He looked and then realized that
he might have mixed some things up, but he was going to
continue, no matter what. "These spiced Ribs to your liing?" He
rotated the tablet around for her to see. "Korean style ribs
with a spciy BBQ sauce. You can even have chili pwder cooked
into the meat for an extra kick. Oh, it also comes with curry
and rice as well." He then put the tablet down and thought for
a moment....
CRAP! he did goof! "Orrrr... wait, lemme switch the two spicy
ones around. Sara, you seemmore laid back, so maybe you would
enjoy thePepper Bites a bit more. Amber appears to have a more
determined look in her eye, so I think the ribs should go to
her... hmmm..."
He looked at them. "Well ladies, was I close?" He put on a big
smile.

The four women looked at each other once he finished and seemed
to come to an agreement. Amber was the first to turn back to him
with a thumbs up "Amazing and you were good the first time.
Pepper Bites are totally one of my favorite dishes!" she said,
grinning.
"How'd you manage to guess! I was sure you'd at least get Mily
and Jade mixed up but you got it all right!" Sara leaned in
closer to him, a flirtatious smile making itself known "I wonder
what other things you could guess in more delicate settings."
she teased. Milly gently pulled her back, laughing "Down girl.
Way to early and we haven't had any drinks yet. But truly
impressive Div, I think you'll make a fine host.""
Jade remained quiet though she had a smile on her face while
watching the others.

Div took a mental deep breath. He was glad he'd gotten them all
right. He then chuckled and wiped a hand through hi hair. "heh,
well Sara, I could tell you, but then I'd be fired." he picked
up the tablet.
"Alright then, so here we go." he punched in the orders and sat
the tablet back down. "So then ladies, a guy's gotta know, What
do you all do when you're not here or at work? Like on your off
time? just a bit curious." He said this with a mixture of a sly
grin and an honest smile. So far, so good. Looks like he still
had it.

"Oh yes I very much like him." Sara smiled and relaxed back into
her seat. "When I'm not copying files I like to take long walks
at night, watch the young people go about their night and
remember when I was that age." she answered. "I visit my
grandkids and teach them knitting and let them "trick" me into
baking too many sweets." Milly answered.
Amber rolled her eyes "Unlike these boring elderly ones I
frequent the bars, sometimes if I'm feeling charitable I'll go
to my husbands sports games or his book club." she shrugged.
"Jade is always working, married to the job as some would say."
Sara teased, giggling when the other girl shook her head "I do
other things. I like to garden on my days off, or go to the bar.
I'm not always working." Jade crossed her arms.

Div nodded as they answered. "You can never have too many
sweets." Div joked. "And gardening must take a lot of patience.
I never had much of a green thumb myself."
He then looked at Amber. "Your husband's in a book club? Does
he write?"

Amber rubbed the back of her neck "Ah one could say he writes,
him and the others practice writing but most of it is trash."
she said, slightly embarrassed but smiled fondly. "He enjoys it
so I humor him with support."
A moment later a waiter stop by their table setting down the
plates of food along with their drinks. Once finished he sets
down a fesh pitcher of water and walks away. "Favorite thing
about this place, once you've become a regular they just get
your drinks." Sara says and grab her can of beer. "A shame you
workers can't get drunk on the job." Milly adds, grabbing her
grapefruit cocktail, she slides a cup of ginger tea over to
Jade. "Plan on hitting the upstairs bar Jade?" Amber teasingly
asked, causing the woman in question to blush. Jade ignored the
question and sipped her tea.

"Yeah it's a pretty tricky thing to get into I bet." Div said to
Amber.
After the drinks came, Div rubbed the back of his head. "Ah,
it's probably a good idea that they don't let us drink. Who
knows what could happen."

Amber nodded in agreement and sipped her beer, she ate one of
the pepper bites and grinned "As always the food here is
delicious. Div you have to try one!" she said excitedly.
Spearing one on her fork she held it out to him with a grin "Say
'ahh' and prepare to have your mouth dazzled!"
"How Howard deals with you on a daily I will never know." Milly
said, eating her shrimp cocktail. "Ooo the sauce is a bit
different, but it compliments the shrimp perfectly."

Div smiled. Ah, well I don't know if we're really allowed to
aah!" Before he knew it, the food was in his mouth.... and his
mouth was on fire." At this point, he made a sound that any bird
caller would've been proud of. The unexpected night owl
impression that came from his mouth was outstanding. The clumsy
way he got up from the table and nearly spilling a pitcher of
water wasn't.
He turned and caugh. "That... How do you... WHAT!?"
Part of him was upset, but the other part did think it was kind
of funny... all the parts of him seemed to still be on fire, so
he stayed standing for a moment.
"How-ouyou eat-at?" He asked with his mouth open because it was
too hot to close. Tears and sweat ran down his face as he tried
to smile. They probably did this a lot.
