Leo's Shop (After Outskirts of Science,open)

The door from the science lab led the others into the dimly lit
steps of the secret basement beneath the convenience store. At
the bottom of the steps stood a young looking Asian woman and
slightly behind her stood a tall burly red headed man.

Lya carefully treaded down the stairs. She took in her new
surroundings. She bit her lip and stepped forward towards the
two. "Umm...hello."

The Asian woman smiled "Hi, happy to see Thea got you all here
safely. I'm Asae and that's Leo" she said, and held out her hand
for the bag. "I thought Thea was partnered with a young
man...well no matter welcome to my shop. Take a seat at the
table, Asae will get you all food and the medical kit." he said
and gestured to the large table in the middle of the basement.

"It's nice to meet you both" Lya said with a bow of her head.
At the outstretched hand she handed her the bag Thea had given
her. She nodded and took a seat at the table. "It was kind of
an impromptu partnership for the evening. I offered to help."

" the names vandel briggs" said thean that lya freed. "Im...im
nico....and this is my sister elizabeth."the other man says.
They take seats at the table, nico props his sister up so that
she could rest on his shoulder "thank you for getting us out. We
thought wed never be free" nico says with a bow of his head.

Taking the bag she walked past them and back up the steps
leading to the main shop. Leo also took a seat "Two partners in
one day! I'm just glad she wasn't out there alone, I was worried
something bad would happen to her after she texted me to get
whatever supplies I could so she could break into the lab
tonight." he nodded at the three. "So what was it you three were
being used for?" he asked.

Vandel grins ear from ear "mind if i tell them Nico?" Nico
shakes his head no, but even then he still looked uncomfortable.
" well ya see....the patriots seem to be getting tired of the
liberated neutral faction and rebellious dark faction. They've
been working on a suppressor for the powered gene in us super
powered citizens." Vandel points a thumb to "and lizzie over
there is the patriots Godsend."
"She can nullify powers" Nico cuts in " and my ability is to
amplify." Vandel raises his hand happily "and I can't die!"

Lya listened to the story of the three who they had freed. She
couldn't say she was surprised that the patriots were trying
such a thing. However the powers of the three made her eyes go
wide.

Leos eyes widened as well "Blimey, we've all herd rumors of
those with powers like that but...well rumors gotta take those
with a grain of salt. With you three they could turn the tide,
strengthening their own fighters, making them unable to die and
then weakening the other factions. They'd come in and sweep us
before we knew it." he stroked his beard. "Losing you three is
going to anger them, if they haven't gotten far in their testing
then they'll send anyone they can to track you down..." he shook
his head.
Quiet steps echoed on the stairs as Asae came back, in her arms
she carried several platters of food and moved to set them down
on the table. The pleasant smells of warm bread and soup filled
the basement "We'll keep the meal light since I don't know how
long you've been captured or how much they've been feeding you."
she took out several bowls and began ladling the soup and
setting them down in front of them. "Don't eat too fast." she
warned and took her seat.

her warning fell on deaf ears as Nico and Vandel buried their
faces into the bowls, scarfing the food down like wild beast.
Nico coughs as he chokes on a piece of bread. with a beat of his
chest he forces it down and continues eating. Richard watches in
slight disgust " im kind of sad that you're this hungry....and
sorta disgusted"
