Div qook a glance down the shaft. Great, that thing was still
alive. He was about to jump back out into the hallway when he
saw all of the lizzardmen surrounding him. Thea gave him an
opening, but it was closing fast.
"crap!" he shouted as he sliced his way through another one to
get to where Thea was.
"You don't have to tell me that! The building's about to catch
fire. Everyone should be out by now though with all the noise
going on.... wait, what cop?" he asked as they ran down the
hallway towards the stairs.

"Yeah the cop that came into the building, ran into him and then
I sorta left him but only to come get you." She explained as
they rushed to the stairs. "Normally I'd be ok to leave him but
he so owes me candy and I plan to collect."

"Seriously, candy?" Div could start to smell smoke and even feel
it getting a little hotter. "Wait, you mean the gummy worms you
refused the share earlier?"

The fire alarm blared loudly, not nearly loud enough to drown
out the panicked screams of people running from lizard men and
fire. The stairs slowly began to fill as people filed in to
escape the smoke and chaos.

"I didn't share them I sadly had to throw my precious candy at
him in an impressive move to distract him. He was suitably
shocked of course, because who would waste such perfection." she
rolled her eyes and tried to push her way through the throng of
people. "Ugh this is taking too long! That cop better be on the
floor I left him at."

Thea pulled out her phone and looked up the buildings
blueprints. "Right this is taking us forever we're taking a
faster route!" grabbing Div by the hand she led them threw the
crowd and out onto the 5th floor hallway which was less crowded.
Looking around she found the nearest open apartment door and
went through it pulling him along with her. "Okay this is the
alley side of the building so we're gonna jump out the window."
she explained. "There's an open dumpster down below so I hope
you don't mind getting dirty."

"Wait we're doing what??" he said as he was lead into the room.
he tried his best to keep his balance.
"oh and open dumpster so, wait WHAT??" the prospect of dumpster
diving didn't sound that great either. He knew they diidn't
really have much of f cchoice. He was going to get an
explanation for all this later.

so close to a window, the sound of sirens blared. noticeably it
was the sirens of firefighters and patriot squad cars. The
muffled voices of men could be heard giving orders. The alley
below was empty except for the one lone dumpster which seemed to
be crammed with trash.....and not the good kind. The smell they
would give off would be undoubtedly noticeable.

Thea opened the window and poked her head out, nose crinkling
when she caught the smell "Try not to throw up, the smell alone
is gonna ruin my clothes and I don't want to add throw up to
mix."she said and crawled out. She hung onto the ledge and held
her breath as she let go and fell into the dumpster. The sound
of her landing echoed back up along with her complaining. "It's
even worse up close!" she climbed out of the dumpster.
