Revision3
By: Chiprocks1 Date: March 18, 2012, 2:13 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I'm constantly in and out of different media, be it music,
DVD's, Cable TV, etc....that I always don't have enough time to
spare when factoring in work. Sometimes I have just a little
time to kill that can't be filled with a movie or whatever.
Enter Internet TV. Ever since hooking up my Roku and doing
plenty of searches for Channels to add, I've come to the
realization that Revision3 so far is the best of the bunch. They
have a ton of variety for shows that I get to watch and most of
the episodes run anywhere from 5 minutes to 10 minutes. Certain
shows do have the occasional 'Specials' and those can average
around 20 minutes and longer.
So, that brings me to this new Sub-Board for any show you are
watching online or on Roku or similar devices.. I will be adding
the shows I'm currently checking out on a regular basis to the
board. See ya there..........

My day hasn't officially started until I watch my Totally Rad
Show (and Film State on Tuesdays and Fridays). I do miss me
some Diggnation though, but I can understand why that finally
ended. It was interesting to see that evolve from a videotaped
low-res show to the point where we got an HD show in front of a
cheering crowd direct to our TVs.

Totally Rad Show is the first thing I check out everyday on
Revision. But lately Alex and Dan are getting on my nerves. You
have Dan who has a lot of trouble trying to conceptualize what
he is thinking into words and it gets frustrating watching him
talk. Alex on the other hand interrupts everyone lately and that
irks me even more. Also, his reviews lately have sucked. Go back
and watch his review of Game Of Thrones Season 1 recap. He made
himself look pretty foolish on that. Watching the other two guys
react to his review was....PRICELESS.
I've checked out Variant, the new Comic book show. If you want
to call it a show. Anyway, I really don't like the host. I love
the concept of the show, I just wish it was anyone other than
Arris Quinones hosting it. The way he talks irritates me. It's
not so much how he talks but the way he jerks his head and body
around when enunciating words that makes me feel like I have had
20 cups of coffee to start my day. Ugh.

I'm liking TRS more when they play games and so on but I also
miss when they would go out and do crazy stuff like geocaching
or running a marathon or Raised On Rad.
The problem with the reviews... especially the movie reviews...
is now Danny is an actual movie director and he doesn't want to
comment. Which I understand but he usually had good insights
and the show is robbed of that now.
Their comic book reviews I've never been that fond of. I like
that there's a comic-centric show (though I read very few comics
now) but Itried the show and didn't care for the host either. I
guess I want more in-depth content.

I get why Dan doesn't do reviews anymore, as he doesn't want to
burn any bridges with potential actors and writers for future
gigs. But I think he is worrying too much about offending people
at the expense of his own show.

Which I totally understand, but I agree. Maybe they could bring
in some other people (like they have Peter from /Filmcast on
every now and then) to give the show a little more content when
they do film reviews).

[center]Adam Sessler Joins Rev3Games!

With G4 deciding to basically bite the hands that feed them with
it's gaming programs and move onto a different format, many of
it's top talent, the biggest being Adam Sessler have refused to
resign with the network and have made their exodus to find
greener pastures. Not much was known about where Adam would end
up at. Well, he has officially joined Rev3Games. Up till now, I
really haven't been a fan or even a follower of the Channel
because I just don't like one of the host. I don't know his
name, because I don't care too. It's the dude with the
pompadour. Anyway, with Adam on board, I'm definitely going to
be checking in from time to time to see what he has up his
sleeve.

Wow. I was not expecting to hear the news that the gang has
decided to end TRS. I was pretty confident that the show would
be around for another 2-3 years. Bummer. I may not have always
agreed with their reviews, but the show for the most part was
very entertaining and it was the first show that I would check
out daily on Revision. I can't see any other show coming along
and replacing this one any time soon. So, the final 2 weeks of
TRS will be a retrospective selected episodes as they give a
running commentary as they watch their favorite episodes from
the past.

i KNOOOOOWWW... TRS is always the first thing I watch when I get
up, gets my motor going. And the fact I'll never be reviewed on
the show is a real bummer. But as we were saying, the show
would have to change it up in a big way to stick around.
Adam Sessler joining Rev3 is a long-time coming, I'm glad to see
it. Honestly, with "We Come From The Future" ending and now
TRS, I was thinking they might be boxing up at Rev3 or doing a
big reassemble after being bought. Is Filmstate really going to
be the only thing on there that I watch?

I honestly don't know if Revision3 is going to be something I
stick with in the long run now that TRS has made it official
they are ending. Sessler does offer a lifeline, but it remains
to be seen where he takes it content wise. I have dropped quite
a few shows from my watch list on Rev3 because they just don't
have much to offer in the way of entertainment, certainly not on
par with TRS.
