I picked this up about 15 years ago, which was made for DVD
players at the time. I never really cared to play it on a remote
like that because it just didn't feel right. So, tonight I
decided to bust out Dragon's Lair and try playing it on Xbox 360
console and it was far more intuitive here which made for a
better game play experience for me.
The game-play on the DVD itself is a master from the original
Laser Disk game from the Arcade Cabinet in the 80's. There are
some differences though. I would say about 95% of the moves are
the same and translate well. It was such a trip to instinctively
nail the moves without thinking from having them permanently
embedded into my DNA from all those hours playing the game as a
kid. The other difference is the on screen prompt that the
original game did not have. Also missing were the Beep Sound FX
that would signify when you made a move.
Just a really cool feeling to play Dragon's Lair on a huge TV
screen. Up next is Space Ace, which I also bought the same day
as well. A few years later, the company released a 20
Anniversary Edition Box Set that had Dragon's Lair, Dragon's
       Lair II: Time Warp and

/>Ace. I picked this up as well because the only way I could buy
Time Warp was to get the Set.

This came out in 2000 for the GameCube. I wasn't playing on
consoles at this time and I never owned a GC. So, I never even
knew that there was this particular version of the game. It
looks cool and makes me wonder if Xbox would ever revisit this
game now, using today technology. I'd be down for this in a
       heartbeat.

Dragon's Lair as a full length feature was never at the top of
my list of things I'd want to see. But this news does make me
want to see it happen now given how much money I forked into the
Original Cabinet game. I'd watch it for sure if it ever sees the
       light of day.

Makes sense that the Kickstarter price goal is for a Trailer to
submit to studio's. I thought it was to make a feature from what
they got from fans. Was kind of scratching my head that they
could make a film for $500k in this day and age.
