I guess it depends on how many copies are being circulated. If
it's only a few, lots of people are picking it up and returning
quickly... or just canceling. If you have lots of copies, for
two weeks that's a pretty good number.

The burgler should get an award for dumbest person on the
planet. Seriously, who logs on iTunes right after stealing an
iPod? Of course they are going to track down the IP address.

Wired August 2012 has and very interesting article 'Do You
Really want to be like Steve Jobs?
HTML http://www.wired.com/business/2012/07/ff_stevejobs/all/'
I picked it primarily for personal reasons that I could relate
to, but also I've just been hearing so much about Jobs, through
the news, the Isaacson biography and such.
I found the article very interesting. Like a ping-pong game
going from ruthless evil to successful business man. The author
appears to explore all avenues. He even goes back to Isaacson
who now seems to defend Jobs in everything he did. Why? I don't
know. Isaacson saying Jobs family was picture perfect pretty
much defies everyone else account, including Isaacson's.
In the long run, I think Job's actions are unique in achieving
success. I don't think he should be a model to follow. And I
certainly find him despicable as a father and family man.
Why the f uck get married and have kids if your work is more
important.

The dude was definitely driven, but I would never want to be
anything like him. One of the things that rubbed me the wrong
way when reading the book was how closed off he was to his first
child and how he basically chose his ambition over blood. Not
cool.....not cool at all.

For those that are interested and haven't seen it yet, Steve
Jobs: The Man in the Machine premieres on CNN tonight. I haven't
seen it. I've been waiting for 2 weeks for tonight since they
started running TV Spots for it. Can't wait any longer.

Very good doc. The first hour is kind of a by-the-numbers look
at Steve Jobs that we already know pretty much by heart as it
covers how he formed Apple and the countless people he f*cked
over to achieve his goal. But it's the second hour where it
really captivates because it's about stuff that I really didn't
know a whole lot about. I can't remember if I even read about it
in the book. Maybe I did, but it's been a long time since I read
it and there was a lot of stuff to cover that it may have gotten
washed over. Anyway, the second half deals primarily with
Back-Dating Stock Options, the alarming suicide rate at one of
Japan's manufacturers that make Apple product and the
"industrial espionage" scandal when a reporter gets a hold of an
iPhone prototype (can't remember which model it was at the
moment). All of this is what made the doc come to life. With
that said, 2 hours still feels incredibly light on material.
There is so much more stuff out there that was left out that we
are still only getting a peek at the man. I think the only
person that can actually tell his story (all of it) is Ken
Burns, the master of the film format.
