[quote]Glass of Queen on the rocks, anyone?
Calling it “the ultimate accompaniment to any band’s rider,” the
band has announced Killer Queen, a “premium Freddie Mercury
celebratory vodka” dedicated to their late frontman’s memory and
released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the single
with which the drink shares its name. It might seem like kind of
an odd way to pay tribute to a singular talent (even though
vodka was his “drink of choice and omnipresent traveling
companion on tour”), but at the very least, they seem to be
taking the ingredients seriously. From the press release:
Killer Queen vodka is produced in batches from the highest
quality GMO free unadulterated EU wheat. The vodka is “well
versed in etiquette,” seven times distilled using an ancient
original vodka filtration process of quartz sand and birch
charcoal with a unique filtration process at the final stage.
The water in Killer Queen vodka has been taken from a 600ft
historical artisan well at source, which gives Killer Queen
vodka its exquisite smooth original taste and is “guaranteed to
blow your mind, anytime.”
Calling the Killer Queen distillery “the Willy Wonka chocolate
factory for adults,” guitarist Brian May shared his excitement
in a statement, saying, “Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a
dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour. Killer Queen
Vodka is the perfect tribute to Freddie and using Killer Queen
as the brand name was the perfect choice for us, and we know
Freddie would have approved.”
Killer Queen vodka is scheduled to deliver its first shipment to
retailers on Sept. 17. For more information about the drink —
