Well, with Guns 'N Roses leading the way into the 2012 Rock and
Roll Hall Of Fame class, it's now countdown time for who will
and will not show up to accept the honor of enshrinement. For
GNR fans like myself, this is a very intriguing bit drama that's
about to unfold. Axl Rose has reconnected with both Duff Mckagen
and Izzy Stradlin, but is still on the outs with Slash.
My guess is that the original lineup including Steven Adler
along with replacement drummer Matt Sorum will be there. And I'm
pretty sure that Axl will try to push the new version of GNR as
the band that he wants accepting along with him. If that is the
case, those new guys absolutely better not get up on stage and
accept the award as if they had a hand in creating the monster
masterpiece that is Appetite For Destruction. Hey, stranger
       things have happened.
But then again, Axl could pull off the biggest surprise ever by
reuniting with the original guys for the customary HOF
performance and THIS is why everyone will be following from here
on out as it leads up to induction day.

The Hall Of Shame is irrelevant to me. I could care less about
that so-called institution. This is all about GNR getting back
together for one performance and if this is the only way to make
it happen, then so be it.
       Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Would you appreciate it even if you knew it was an empty
       performance?
They may get up and play, but behind each breath, say **** you
and the Harley that you rode on.
I think about the Van Halen episode years ago. Yea, it was great
to see them up there, but it was all fake.

If they performed together, I don't think it would be fake in
anyway. Axl , Slash and the rest of the gang wouldn't do it for
ratings or for the board or even for the fans. They would only
do it if they had mended fences which then opens up the
possibility of them getting back together on a larger scale. See
what is happening here? Just the simple fact of them getting
into the HOF has got me talking like this.

As for Van Halen, they never performed. I get that you're
referring to Sammy and Mike. Ironically enough it was Velvet
Revolver with Slash that had to fill in because David Lee Roth
was b*tching and moaning about what songs they were going to
       play.

[glow=red,2,300]Kiss on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: ‘We’ll Just
       Buy It and Fire Everybody’[/glow]
       --- Quote ---
       >
       >
       >
       > Ted Nugent once said he wanted to buy Muzak for $10 million in
order to shut it down, since it represented everything “uncool”
about music. Now, Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has similar feelings
towards the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band has been
eligible for induction into the music institution since 1999,
but they’ve yet to be voted in. You can bet that Simmons’
feathers are ruffled by their continued exclusion from the HOF.
       >
       > At Tuesday’s (March 20) press conference in Los Angeles
announcing the epic co-headlining tour that Kiss will embark
upon with Motley Crue, Simmons addressed the fact that they’ve
been dissed by the Hall for 13 years.
       >
       > “It’s become a joke,” he told Rolling Stone. “We’ve been
thinking about it and the answer is simply, ‘We’ll just buy it
       and fire everybody.’”
       >
       > Purchase, re-staff and rename it the Kiss Hall of Fame? Sounds
       like a Kourse of action.
       >
       > Despite the joke, Simmons changed his tone immediately,
saying, “In all seriousness for the fans, for something to be
called Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is such an insult to Madonna,
Blondie and Tone Loc. Who the f— knows what other disco act is
in there? It’s an insult to them because they don’t get to be in
the ‘Dance Hall of Fame,’ because that’s what they do. They’re
legitimate dance, disco artists. They don’t belong in rock and
       roll.”
       >
       > While the Demon has a point there, we don’t think Madonna is
feeling bad about her election to the Hall, since it is, after
all, an honor. And Tone Loc is not a member of the Hall of Fame,
       actually.
       >
       > His bandmate Paul Stanley (who was probably actually the one
wearing feathers during the conversation) concurred, saying,
“The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has reached a point where
they’re really scrounging and scratching to find someone left
that they consider viable.” He continued, “With all due respect,
when you get to Patti Smith you’re about two steps away from
       Pete Seeger.”
       >
       > We think that Gene, Paul and Kiss have a legitimate gripe. But
it does sound a bit like sour grapes. They won’t be the Susan
Lucci of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame forever. We are
confident they will eventually get in and it’ll have been worth
       the wait, boys.
