It's Christmas Eve for Dan and his family. So, what better way
to spend the holidays then to travel back in time to 1979 on
Christmas Eve, the day his estranged father Frank (Joel Gretsch)
leaves him and the rest of his family when he was only just
seven years old. Not to be outdone with trying to once again
change the course of his own future, Dan must also deal with the
likelihood that he is now without a job having just gotten fired
due to layoffs.
This is the one episode where we don't really know exactly who
Dan is tracking from the start. Think along the lines of having
multiple plates spinning in the air and he must try to keep them
from all crashing to the floor.
Back in Present Day, Katie is dealing with the fall out of
having been held at gunpoint from Aeden Bennett and is suffering
from Post Traumatic Syndrome. To add fire to an already sticking
situation is the arrival of Dan and Jack's Mother Barbara
(Barbara Tarbuck) for Christmas dinner. Jack gets a bombshell
when he finds out his girlfriend Theresa (Lisa Sheridan) is
having his baby, but is not sure she wants to keep it beccause
she fears that Dan carry's that mentally unstable gene that's
sure to be passed down to the unborn baby.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Dan's really stepped in it good now...
...when he travels back in time and leaves behind a
digital camera, one with technology that is 20 years ahead of
its time. This sets off a chanin reaction, the biggest being
that he no longer has a son Zack in Present Day, but instead a
daughter Caronlne (Ellery Sprayberry) in his place, to which
Katie has no recollection about this "altered" past.
Also, Jack reaches out to an FBI Agent to investigate into Agent
Garrity's past and why and for how long he was digging into
Dan's past. Among his findings, Jack finds an old photpgraph of
a young 7 year old Dan posing along side...Elliot Langley, the
same man that has answers about Dan's Time Traveling
abilities.
Dan comes full circle...
[move]*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPOILERS*SPO
ILERS*[/move]
...when he leaps back to the year 2007, into a
Psychiatric Hospital and meets up with a fellow time-traveler.
Or does he? He is after all in a place where everyone claims to
be something not readily accepted by society. So, it's up to Dan
to figure out if he is in fact what he says he is. Telling you
what happens in this spoiler here would absolutely ruin it for
you. So, I'm not going to tell you anything more about this part
of the arc.
Dan is also searching for answers in why he is traveling back in
time and Elliot Langley finally lays out all the cards on the
table and tells him what he needs to hear. Nope, not gonna tell
you anymore about this either. Sucks to be you if you haven't
already started watching Journeyman.
But to me, the crown jewel comes at the end. The entire series,
if you really think about it, is about Dan and Katie's love for
each other. Their family...their marriage. And in all this time,
Katie shows such devotion to Dan and sticks up for him and by
him when things get tough. Katie is asked to take a huge leap of
faith in believing in Dan when he tells her he can travel back
in time. She does all this without ever witnessing any of his
Leaps. Now THAT'S love if there ever was one. So, it's only
fitting, as the series comes to an end, Katie's faith in her man
is vindicated at the end when she finally sees for herself for
the first time. It's such an amazing moment and scene and still
gives me chills to this day. The entire season was building up
to this moment. So, if you are going to cheat and just watch the
ending, you are cheating yourself out of a moment to savior.
I'm definitely going to re-watch this again. Such and amazing
series that ended way too soon.
