Well, the video shows up on the TV, but there is no sound for
either the DVD/VCR or Xbox coming out of the receiver. As far as
the Xbox cable, it doesn't have the Red, White only connections.
The other half of the Yellow, Red, White is the Green, Blue, Red
       connectors.

Make sure you check that your speaker hook up on the back, both
the left and right are either both on a or b just to make it
easier. Then make sure the speaker select button on the front is
pushed in for the A if they are both on A or B. Make sure that
thats the only speaker select button is pushed in.

Okay. Will need to re-hook again. Also, I just noticed that the
front of my DVD player comes with Video Audio In ports. But I
never used the front for connections before.

I tired it the original way and tripled checked the A & B
Speakers. No dice. So, in a shot in the dark gamble, I decided
to just run the XBox RCA Cables into the front ports of the DVD
player. That worked as far as sending video to the TV. Only
problem is that I have to switch the channel on the DVD player
to Line 2 for Xbox to show up on screen and then back to Line 1
for DVD player to show up. That's not a problem because I'll
never have use for both at the same time.
As for audio. I've always ran into into the Aux ports on the
back of the Receiver, but here it wasn't working at all. So
another shot in the dark was running it into the Phono ports,
which works for me. So, this will do for the time being till I
can upgrade my system again to higher quality components.
One question though, is there any way to lower the volume of the
TV basically down to 0, while not affecting the volume of the
receiver? On my older TV (prior to going with current Sony) I
was able to do just that. But on the Sony, it's not independent
of one another. I turn down TV, so goes the receiver. This isn't
a deal breaker for me since I have everything else working now.
Just curious if there is a way to revisit this particular set up
       from before.
NOTE TO SELF: Take picture of current cable hook ups so as not
have to deal with this again.
