I thought the first John Wick movie was good, fun entertainment.
It served its purpose. I was expected the same here. But the
difference was that John Wick: Chapter 2 overall is just a much
better flick than the first. They are pretty much the same, only
here it's 100x more thrilling. I found the pacing to be
infinitely better and the gun choreography was put together
better and shot and edited better. It really comes off as a
dance. I saw a few "nods" to The Matrix. Well, I personally
thought they were nods. The Phone and the Subway scene made me
think of The Matrix. The one "gripe" I have with JW2 is that the
Trailer makes Laurence Fishburne's role appear to be much bigger
than it actually is (also another Matrix nod). In reality, he is
only in it for 5 minutes. That's it. So, here's hoping he has a
bigger part on Chapter 3. Anyway, I highly recommend JW2. Fun,
check your brain at the door fun. 4 Stars out of 5. Common and
Ruby Rose were the other standouts in the flick. Rose's
character in particular was fun to watch and something original
in that her character uses Sign Language exclusively here, which
you don't ever see in this type of movie or role.
