       [center]Patriots Day (2016)

Patriots Day didn't start off in the best of ways. It actually
came across almost like a TV movie than a theatrical release.
Not sure what it was about the first 20 minutes or so that made
it feel this way. Maybe it was the amount of "random characters"
or just the editing, Anyway, the movie really takes off after
the bombing in a Cat and Mouse detective push. We know how it
ends and yet, this Thriller still delivers in a very visceral
way. And all those "random characters" come back to play a big
part of the movie as the pieces start coming together. I thought
I knew everything there was to know about the story...but I
don't remember much of Dun Meng. I knew about the carjacking,
but I can't recall hearing anything about his escape. But the
one thing that I'm trying to recall was the shoot out, which I
do remember, just not the amount of pipe-bombs that were being
thrown. Not sure if this happened as depicted in the film or
they took liberties to up the ante for a more explosive
conclusion to the whole ordeal. Anyway, this is definitely worth
a Rent. 4 Stars out of 5. Also, I had no idea that Melissa
Benoist was in this. Just weird seeing Supergirl in this in the
role she plays. With the movie completed...I found the Epilogue
with the real survivors to be the absolute best part of the
movie....to hear their stories firsthand. It was very moving.
