Yeah, I get the practice of broadcast TV doing this for pretty
much every movie to fill in the needed air space which I've seen
firsthand for years. But with it being bandied about that the
only "cut" of TBC is what we already know it to be, getting this
added content out of nowhere is a mystery.....for everyone.

I'm not seeing anything online about a theatrical release.

Fathom Event... doesn't look like they're actively promoting it
yet. Found it listed on Fandango while I was compiling a list
       of upcoming release dates.

Since it was on Historical Pics twitter feed today, and we
always like our Breakfast Club content, here's a picture from
       the production:

[center]The Breakfast Club 30th Anniversary Edition

Depending on exactly how long the 12-Part doc is, this still
seems to be very light in the extras department. But, I do like
the idea of a Commentary Track with Hall and Nelson, but
somewhat disappointed that it's only them. With that said, I
would and will still end up buying this DVD just for the
Resolution bump, which would be a huge step up. I mentioned it a
few post back how soft the film looked on my original DVD
pressing. So, the idea of seeing TBC at 6x's the resolution has
me pumped. This is definitely a Must-Buy for me. As for the
theatrical re-release, I highly doubt it will be offered here.

It looks like the trivia track is the only new thing on here.
Everything else is same as the DVD I got for less than ten bucks
       brand new at Target.

Well that blows. Why the f*ck can't Universal get anything right
with this movie? Why is it always treated as an afterthought.
Since I skipped the most recent pressing of the DVD, I don't
know what is or isn't new. But the fact that they are just
porting stuff over tells me the studio doesn't give a f*ck.
Trivia tracks on DVDs as a whole suck donkey balls. Well, the
ones I've seen do. I'm guessing the Doc I watched a couple of
months back on YouTube is going to be the same one huh? If
that's the case, it doesn't clock in more than 20 minutes total.
That's just a guess and not a factual number. But that's still
       weak in my book.

The only trivia track I remember liking was the one on Galaxy
Quest b/c Mike and Denise Okuda wrote it, the whole thing was
full of jokes and fake trivia about the fake show (including
episode summaries), "info" on the ship, background on the
characters (Tim Allen's character had a sitcom called "Hello
Nighbor!" and released a polka album). There was some actual
trivia about the movie, I think, but it was few and far between.
Anyway, if you don't have TBC on DVD, get the Flashback edition
from Target, 10 bucks new. Or wait until the blu-ray gets
cheap. Or wait for the movie to pop back onto Netflix.
