One other thing, I still own the first DVD pressing for TBC and
I'm still p*ssed off that the movie hasn't gotten any sort of
Deluxe treatment. I was hopeful with the 2 different versions
that have come after the original, only be disappointed through
word of mouth that they aren't worth upgrading to. I would like
a super clear print of the movie because the copy I have just
looks so.....meh. I can't imagine the Blu-ray copy is going to
be that much of an improvement.

That's interesting about the confession scene, I never knew
that. Or maybe I did and forgot. I did know that the quote at
the beginning was Molly Ringwald's suggestion.
I'm kicking myself for not outlining the movie last time I saw
it, the whole thing is actually divided up in interesting ways,
and I should have taken it apart to figure out the structure,
but when I thought about it, I was too far in.
Yeah, Hughes flicks on disc kinda suck, very bare-bones and so
on... like, the Ferris Bueller Blu-Ray doesn't have the
commentary that the DVD has. I will say that my Netflix HD
stream was... perfectly acceptable. Better than listening to
the audio on my iPod or waiting for the show to come on cable,
which are my options until it pops up again or I find a disc.
Oh, don't forget that Ally Sheedy is in Kyle XY. She plays
Kyle's real mother, which is kinda perfect casting for that
       character.

Um, have we talked about these yet? The Lost Films of John
       Hughes
  HTML http://splitsider.com/2012/07/the-lost-projects-of-john-hughes/.<br
/> Sh*t I gotta start writing faster, that's an insane amount of
projects. But at least I do the mixtape soundtracks. Honestly
though, I think a good deal of these ideas are probably lost for
a good reason, and that's fine.
I actually have read the script for Tickets, but despite the
fact that the article says John Hughes didn't like to rewrite,
he would rewrite stuff every night when the movie was being
made. The script for Planes Trains and Automobiles isn't nearly
as good as the flick, so I have no idea what Tickets might have
been. But I'm sure it wouldn't have been as good, even if you
had Robert Downey Jr playing the lead (who it seemed like the
       part was written for).

Man, John Hughes' wife absolutely needs to allow them to make a
proper DVD. I want the 2.5 hour long 'Director's Cut'!!!! Make
       it happen!!!

       Where did these come from?
You know, I'm torn... part of me wants to see more, but I also
know they were excised for a reason (Ferris Bueller has two
young siblings that we never see, for example, because they add
nothing to the movie). Again I bring up the script for Planes
Trains and Automobiles, not only was it weaker, it made Del more
insufferable. One bit of dialogue that actually went in would
have totally ruined the movie for me. It was bad enough reading
it on paper, hearing John Candy say it-- no, I couldn't accept
that. I feel like The Breakfast Club might be the same thing.

Dude, I've had the same thoughts and conversations within my own
head about the pros and cons of the original cut of TBC and an
extended 'Director's Cut' and it all comes down to just wanting
to have both copies in my personal DVD library. There are a
handful of movies that I loved as is and then ended up getting
an extended cut. The one that comes to mind is T2. It's great to
have both, but I still find myself just alternating between the
two which is something I'd end up doing with TBC. I just want to
have it even if I know that no amount of new content is ever
going to displace the original. As for the Screencaps, I just
did a search for 'Deleted Scenes' and instead of clicking on
'Web', I went with 'Images' to see if there were any Behind the
Scenes stuff and saw the 3 Images. I originally saw the Anthony
Michael Hall image from a video that I will post in just a
       second...........

These clips are about the closest thing we are going to get to
any kind of legit documentary on TBC. They are short clips, but
       damn fun to watch regardless.

This right here is kind of a Holy Grail moment because it's the
only scene that actually had 'new' content added to an existing
scene back in 2003 for broadcast TV. I want to know how the f*ck
UPN got access to it to add it in the first place.

Sixteen Candles had something like this too... I think I've
heard of this happening with other movies too, I think it might
just be because the TV cuts need more time, so they work off a
less truncated version of the film. I'm really not sure.
