Since Chip asked in the WarGames thread, here's the HD Screencap
gallery I had been drawing reference from
HTML http://kissthemgoodbye.net/movie/thumbnails.php?album=89.

That's a TON of caps!!! Gonna take some time going through those
and finding some keepers. Thanks for the link!

I've got a file with every number from 0000 to 9999 with one
space between them. What I do is I go to the final cap, figure
out what number that is, then edit down the number list to just
those numbers, then I do a find/replace, turning the spaces into
bifurcated links, basically creating a list of every image name.
Then I open up that document in Firefox and do a DownThemAll,
and in about two minutes, I have the entire gallery.

Took me long enough to do that. And don't be a fool, freakin'
google the numbers and have that generate a list. And don't use
a file editor that automatically turns them into "link," you
want that full string.

I wound up tossing and turning for two hours last night and came
up with dialogue for my teen comedy that's the whole "hammer
dropped" dramatic moment, and it actually made me cry in the
moment, but I have this doubt in my mind as to whether it's
really me or the ghost of TBC influencing me. The character
always had this feel of being a mix of Bender and Allison
(antisocial bullsh*t artist testing people's limits, carrying a
giant bag full of stuff, etc) so I don't know if my concern for
that is just bleeding over into something genuinely good or if
what I think is good (actually the best little chunk of
something I've written in a while) will be perceived as the
derivative attention-seeking pap I suspect it is.

Doesn't matter if it's "bleeding over" from the movie. When I'm
struggling to find something to write, I purposely put on my
favorite movies that have always gotten the juices flowing the
the lead moving on paper and one of those movies happens to be
TBC. It's still coming from inside you regardless of what pushed
you there and that's something you can hold onto. I've written
countless things after watching certain movies and I'm still
proud of a lot of the things I've written over the years and
wouldn't change anything at all. Consider yourself lucky you
have something. A lot of people still can't come up with
anything, even with help.

I guess it's just imposter syndrome rearing it's ugly head,
combined with the fact I can see the parts that went into this
project (Weir Science, Eight Days A Week, Breakfast Club, etc).
Plus it's not even a draft yet, so it IS just parts. You mind
if I send you that little bit?

Well, that concludes my Mini Alley Sheedy marathon, which wasn't
planned at all. With WarGames
HTML http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/wargames-(1983)/msg1672/#msg1672<br
/>last night and The Breakfast Club tonight, I feel like I need
more Sheedy right now. I'm almost tempted to bust out The Dead
Zone and watch her guest spot where she reunited with Anthony
Michael Hall for one episode. Looking at the date of the
original review, I can't believe it's been 3 years since I last
watch TBC. What the f*ck! The movie just stilll kicks so much
ass.
There isn't anything else I can say that I already haven't said
before. But I will say this, the confession scene as a whole is
just pure magic in both the written word and how it was edited
together. It's a brilliant scene that allows each character to
bare their souls in an organic way without it being forced. It
flows like wine with peaks and valleys. I don't know how much
research you guys have done on TBC, but I can tell you one thing
that has stuck with me is that during the confession scene, John
Hughes was sitting on the floor behind the camera. Very few
people were even allowed to watch that scene live. I got that
from an article I read years ago that I still have and he was in
tears when the actors (Molly and Anthony) broke down. I need to
bust that magazine out and read it again. It was about an 8 page
article with a lot of behind the scenes stuff that I haven't
scene in print since then.
