House of Lies is a series that just never could sustain itself
over the long haul. First two seasons were great. I enjoyed
Season 3 for the most part. But Season 4 was meh and Season 5
was lower than that one. It is what it is. The entire premise of
the series is basically chasing after a client, doing a sales
pitch and then securing the contract. Lather, rinse, repeat.
After five seasons of that, you start to wish for something a
bit more to it. I remember back in Season 1, I asked myself,
should this series every get enough seasons under it's belt and
warrant a series finale, how would they do it. All I could think
of at the time, whatever it is...it's going to be contrived and
sure enough, this series finale is one of the lamest ever. It's
so cliched that I thought it was a joke that they would wake up
and it would all be a dream. Getting married is not how I want
to see them close out the series. Ugh. Anyway, there are some
funny moments along the way, but this is definitely the worst
season by far. Worth a Rent just to get closure for those that
have stuck with the show this far.
