John Hurt dies of cancer, age 77

I just saw him in Jackie the other day... and on top of that,
one of my characters I pictured having his voice, so it's been
running through my head persistently for about a year or so...
so this is a real fresh wound to me. I kinda figured we might
not have much time left with him, but... I didn't think it would
       happen so soon.
But man, a character actor who got better with age. Alien, The
Elephant Man, 1984 AND V For Vendetta? He was about as British
as the queen or the flag.

77 is just way to young to leave. This sucks. One of my all-time
favorite performances ever by any actor or actress is his role
in The Elephant Man. This is the benchmark by which all other
actors will be judged and compared to. This is a tour-de-force
from start to finish. His performance still gets to me every
time no matter how many times I have seen the movie. RIP Mr.
       Hurt.
