       As you guys know, I'm not a big Star Trek fan. I'm not a hater,
       it's just that this franchise has never appealed to me for
       whatever reason. With that said, the Reboot and the movies that
       have followed have surprised me in a way I never thought. Star
       Trek Beyond is a solid flick. I thought the pacing was great.
       Fantastic set pieces and well-timed humor that actually had me
       laughing. Props to Simon Pegg on co-writing the script. I had no
       idea that he wrote this until the end credits rolled. Loved the
       idea of using contemporary music (Public Enemy's Fight The Power
       and Beastie Boys' Sabotage) to great effect in their respective
       scenes. At first it was very jarring, especially Fight The
       Power, because it came out of nowhere and was definitely out of
       place. But once you accept this, it makes Sabotage really work
       when it finally hits. Definitely worth a Rent. I'd definitely
       watch this again if I came across it channel surfing.
