Ya know, I can't always go on vacation like some people I know
;) , but that hasn't stopped me from trying to bring the
vacation to me when I just don't want to listen to any music,
watch any TV or Movies and just want to pretend that I'm
somewhere else to unwind. I like to put these up on my Big
Screen TV because it fills up the room. The other thing I try to
stick to are natural sounding loops. No music, no frills. Just
the environment it was recorded at. There are plenty of
variations out there. Some that I really like. When I can find
those specific loops I will post here.

I had to post this before I lost it. Anyone ever wish they could
just live the life of Yoda, minus lightsabers, Sith's and
training whiney Jedi's? Well, now you can. This is awesome.

Funny that you would post these. I was thinking about these
recently, every now and then I'll ahve one on (I've only done it
a few times), but a couple days ago I was thinking about a
sci-fi project of mine and thought how these people on a
spaceship need some kind of view, so I had the idea that of
course they would have something like this that would fill up a
whole wall, or be a hologram a centimeter off of the actual
wall, with the environmental conditions in the room being set to
match, so if you're "on the beach" there's a warm breeze, if
you're "in the mountains" there's a cool chill, etc... and I
was contemplating how much of that would be considered
"healthy." Especially when you're on a confining dark spaceship
in the middle of nowhere with no view.

I got into the idea of Projected Vacations from SciFi flicks
over the years, but I never really had the opportunity to try
them out for myself until I got my most recent HDTV. There were
a handful of movies that sparked the idea, but it wasn't until I
saw something recently that made me dig deeper on YouTube and
started putting them on. I'm still trying to remember which
movie or TV show that spurred me on.

Here's a recent one that I found and enjoyed a few weeks ago.

So this thread is interesting in many ways. I get it. I think
one of the top Netflix streams this winter was Ultimate
Fireplace. Anything to get our minds in a different place. I
think these particular videos will really become popular with
the Occulus rift gadgets. Except you could interact with
environment.
Regarding these videos, brought some distant memories for me. My
dad use to listen to records with jungle/Hawaiian sounds and
songs. I think that's evolved in my head to my enjoying a lot of
trip hop. I don't know how to concert the dots for you all. It's
just a primal thing I guess. Anyways I can still see the album
covers with the paradise views.

It took me forever to find this freaking thread!
This one just popped up in my Youtube subscriptions. I like
when there's video, I feel like I'm there. And I love the swell
of the wave crashing in, though I wish I could see more of the
beach.

Times like this I wish I had an absurdly large set in my
bedroom. It would be nice to fill my vision with the beach.

Would this fall into virtual getaways?
Man, we are inching closer and closer to things that will suck
us into the virtual world. Some of these things actually look
pretty cool to experience.

It's a better getaway than just watching via YouTube.
