Dame Helen Mirren, a strong contender for the title of Greatest
Actress Of All Time, has joined the cast of Fast and Furious 8.
Nothing about that is a joke.
Dame Helen first dropped the news in – where else – an interview
with Elle about a very serious war film she just made:

Yes, I am.
Are you a fan of cars?
Well, yes. I’ve always rather loved driving. I said, ‘I’ll
be in it, but only if I’m allowed to drive if I do drive in it.’
But we’ll see. We’ll see how it transpires. Film is a wonderful
thing and it can be so many different things. I don’t want to
turn my back on any of the different ways movies can be. I love
the movies. I love going to the films. I like very serious
films, I love foreign films, and I love big, fun movies–as long
as they’re well made and they’ve got good scripts. That’s the
most important thing.[/quote]
The news was then confirmed by the Fast 8 Twitter account,

Helen is doing what Robert De Niro should be doing. She has gone
from serious actress and broaden her catalog in going against
type, but more than that, she has made an effort to pick quality
stuff to do that with. As for De Niro. Eh.

Nothing like on-set rivalry. I heard about this the other day
when news dropped that Dwayne had issues with his "male
co-star". Many speculated that it was a dig at [b]Scott
Eastwood[/b] while others were dubious if this was even a thing
and was more about creating drama to hype the movie. Well, looks

Is this for media attention? Some of those claims sound rather
egagerated. I e not read anywhere else these guys being divas
and being late for anything.

This looks f*cking insane!
The other thing I took away from the trailer is that I
absolutely think Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel's 'beef' with
each other that they had a few months ago was and is all for
show because of what the story is the 8th time around. If you
haven't seen the trailer, you will think the same thing.
