THIS is what Rocky V should have been, but for obvious
reasons, it was just not going to work at that time under those
circumstances. FYI, Creed is the 7th installment in the Rocky
series and it's a great addition to it. Overall, Creed
does go back to the blueprint of the first film and it does
stick pretty close to the formula that has made the series a
fan-favorite. But Creed has enough new wrinkles along the
way to create its own identity without betraying the Rocky
legacy. All the praise you have heard about the movie and the
actors getting is well-earned. Michael B. Jordan was fantastic
and Sylvester Stallone does an amazing job as well. There were
some truly touching moments that he brought to life with his
performance. Overall, I really like the story for both Creed
and Rocky. Rocky in particular was at times heart-wrenching
to watch. He is a man that is essentially all alone in the world
now that everyone from his past is gone and his arc is about
finding something to live for, his motivation to continue
onward. As for the fight scenes, the fight at the end was good,
but its the fight that happens midway through the film that had
me impressed beyond belief. The fight choreography was spot on,
but it's the one-take, single camera tracking shot in and out of
the ring for the first 2 rounds that made me take notice of
Director Ryan Coogler ability to compost a shot. I highly
recommend this as a Buy. It's going into my collection, that's
for sure.

Man, I'm pumped for this. Trailer looks great. We even get a
glimpse of Ivan Drago too!
