Whenever I see a real musician like that play a music "game" I
just remember the guys from Rush being set up with Rock band and
trying to play one of there own songs. I would love to see Alex
do a Rush song on this. Is obvious that a simplified version
confuses people that really know how to play the whole song.
Sort of like throwing an expert rb or GH player into an easy or
medium setting of that game. They know the rhythm and timing and
having a quarter or 8th of the amount of the notes even though
they are in time throws everything off.

I'd pay to see Steve Vai forced to play one of his own songs on
Rocksmith (when his stuff is released that is), and watch him
look horrible at it. ;D

Added Guitar World Plays Rocksmith Episode 6
Dawn Of The Chordead looks to be the best of the Guitarcade
games in that it can really speed up the process of learning
basic, simple chord shapes to more advanced shapes while keeping
your practicing entertaining. Man I wish I had something like
this back when I first picked up a guitar. It would have made
those long practice sessions more bearable for me.
Bah!!

I really dig this Trailer. It makes me want to pick up a guitar
right this very second.

Well I spent a little time with Rocksmith tonight and really
like it. Of course this is coming from an extreme beginner. I
read Joystiqs review and the guy hated just about everything
about it except the tech that is the guitar chord. He of course
was "an accomplished" guitar player but thats really not what
this game is targeting. I did notice though there where a couple
times it wasn't detecting the right fret I was on it was telling
me to be on 5 and I was and the arrows where directing me to
move my fingers as if I where on the 6th fret. Maybe I was
planing to close to the 6th, but thats where you are always told
to finger the fret, closest to the next fret and not in the
middle. I'll have to do some experimenting to see. Right now
though I gotta go be Batman.
