R.I.P. Alan Gruben
By: Mac Date: October 11, 2015, 7:21 am
---------------------------------------------------------
My wife's father, Alan Gruben, passed suddenly, yesterday at 5
PM. My wife is devastated. She and him did not grow up in a
healthy family. Her mom and dad were not meant for each, so a
terrible life at home. He was an alcoholic. About 22 years ago,
after he divorced, my wife reached out to him to start a new
relationship. He had quit drinking and found a woman to be with.
Ever since, my wife and her father had a great relationship.
The man I knew was very happy and fun to be around. While his
health slowly declined, his internals suddenly started shutting
down. He went in Tuesday with breathing problems, but I suspect
other problems as well.
He will be missed. You knew when Alan was in the room. Not
overly charismatic, just engaging.
Take care Alan... You will be missed.
