Now THIS is how you do a trailer. Unlike Justice League, with
each new Star Wars Trailer, I get more and more pumped.

Okay, I'm doing a great job of avoiding spoilers (so far), but
all I'm seeing are headlines that this movie absolutely sucks. I
see that there is a petition to remove The Last Jedi from Star
Wars Canon and even more shocking is hearing that Mark Hamill
himself is slamming his own performance and saying it's "not my
Luke Skywalker". Seriously, what the f*ck is going on. Without
divulging any plot points or spoilers about The Last Jedi, is
this movie really that bad? This is all so unnerving.

I'm seeing it tonight.
I don't know if it's bad, but a lot of people are upset because
it really changes the status quo. It's more about the content
than the presentation, I've actually heard really great things
about it, and I think this is just fanboy purists bitching and
whining (the same ones who had issue with a black Stormtrooper,
or hate Rey on principle).
You want to know why you're seeing headlines? Cause those grab
readers. There's a limited lifespan of "That movie was great,
right?" (and a while before "let's talk about this
under-appreciated gem" which a Star Wars movie can never be),
but bitching and moaning about something-- especially something
that has such a big fanbase-- guarantees clicks and guarantees
ad revenue.

Yeah, I get that...but when you have Mark literally bashing the
movie, or more specifically how Luke comes across (a dis at the
Director and / or Film Editor), there is legitimate concern
here. Anyway, when you get back from the movie tonight, let me
know if people are blowing this out of proportion. No Spoilers
of course. Just a simple yes or no will suffice. Once I see the
flick for myself, we can have a more in depth discussion like
always.

I can get why Mark might have an issue with what Luke did... it
certainly seems out of character, but it's also the end result
of a LOT that we don't see. But it's right for the movie, and I
think it is in tune with the character and how he's not pure.
He has issues, for sure, he's a main character in the movie and
he works them out.
I'll say more in the spoilers thread, but watch this movie.
Especially on the big screen (I saw it in what I think was 2:1
IMAX, it looks amazing on that).

It's polarizing, and I'll say it's not perfect, but it swings
big.
Some of the complaints, now that I read them, are exactly what I
thought. One dude complaining about SJWs, I just wanna say
"b*tch, they're the REBELLION, they're fighting to bring peace,
freedom and equality to the universe. They are LITERALLY
warriors for social justice. Did you not notice that until
now?"
I also have to say that since I avoided spoilers or fan theories
and so on, I enjoyed it more... and I think you were the same,
no knowledge is good knowledge in this case. I can see a lot of
people having issue because the movie they made up in their head
was so off the mark. Ironically, though I didn't have fan
theories, I had a wishlist of things I wanted to see and the
last couple movies have been knocking all the stuff off in ways
I hadn't expected.
It's also worth pointing out what the fan reactions to The
Empire Strikes Back were like
HTML http://www.acriticalhit.com/fans-react-empire-strikes-back-1980/<br
/>when that movie came out.
