Well, it's the first day of the Film Festival (that's what that
weird colour splat in the background is, the edge of the logo
frame), and he was in one of the shorts in the program. Minor,
minor role, but he came out to support it. And he was totally
what you want Jim O'Heir to be.
So afterwards, after everyone did a Q&A, I went up to say hi and
asked about this movie he's shooting with the Duplass Brothers,
because I thought he should be in LA filming that, and I
mentioned that my sister is working on that, and his eyes lit up
when he heard her name, "everyone loves her, she's so great" etc
etc. And "I'm definitely telling her I ran into you," and right
before I could say it, he suggested getting the picture together
and sending it to her.
And you know what? This isn't a rare occurrence. Everyone I
meet who knows her LOVES her. I've never heard a bad word said
about her, and if I illicit a quarter of the goodwill that she
gets, I'd consider myself a pretty well-regarded guy.
