I guess you can say this was the "origin" episode of Maggie
(Christina Ricci) in where she started from and how she ended up
at Pan Am. It was interesting, but I just don't see where this
show is going or if it has the legs to make it to the end of the
season. I will give it another couple of episodes to see if they
can come up with something better.
Looking at the ratings numbers for the series it looks really
bad, dropping from 11 million viewers of it's premiere to just a
little over 5 million for this episode. Not good. I am
interested to see Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights) guest
staring on a future episode of the series and it's really the
only reason why I am giving the show a temporary reprieve till
it airs.

What a great episode. I think it helped the series that they
simplified it and went with only 2 story lines, both dealing
with the beginning of a relationship and the ending of another.
The first one dealt with Joe (Gaius Charles) and Laura (Margot
Robbie) attraction for each other in a time that wasn't always
acceptable which created the bulk of tension. But I thought the
scenes they shared together were fantastic. They left it open at
the end for his character to return. The other story dealt with
Kate (Kelli Garner) and Niko (Goran Visnjic) saying goodbye now
that the US Government is forcing his hand to defect and work
with them as a spy against his own country.
Overall this was a solid episode and if they decide to keep it
simply like they did here at the exclusion of other characters,
then so be it.

This is exactly the kind of episode I was expecting from the
series. The entire episode consisted just of the plane, the crew
and it's passengers as they make an emergency landing in Haiti
when one of their Pan Am passengers has a heart attack. Adding a
wrinkle to the mix is when the stewardess' allow a refugee to
stowaway on board back to the states. Really good episode and I
hope to see more of these kinds of episodes in the future.

Is Pan Am Really Canceled? Not So Fast...
HTML http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/pan_am_really_canceled_not_fast/277368
I do believe that the show is in fact cancelled and that Karine
Vanasse did in fact get the call from the studio saying so. I
just think that ABC is now trying to do damage control so that
her statements don't affect the ratings for the episode coming
back from Christmas.

Looks like it's back to more of the same as far as story telling
is concerned. They went back to multiple story lines, but this
time it's 4 separate stories, spreading each one beyond thin.
And to top it off, they literally end it with a Gun Shot
cliffhanger. If this is in fact the last episode to air, talk
about a non-resolution episode. Non of the 4 stories had any
resolution whatsoever.

I was certain that the last episode would in fact be the final
airing. I was wrong. Nothing has really changed about the
series. Still too many stories bouncing off one another. This
one takes place more or less at the same hotel where the Beatles
were saying. It's implied, but we never seen them portrayed
here.
