I had no clue that this was even in the works....unless we have
already talked about it and I forgot. Anyway, I need to revisit
the Original as I haven't seen it in years and I don't remember
much. It's been THAT long.

I don't understand the thinking of doing a sequel years , no
decades later.
Yea I'm looking at you Ghostbusters 3

That was my immediate thought as well. It's called striking
while the iron is hot. The Studios seem to forget about who
their audience is going to be when either....or both movies are
released. These new movies will be targeting a young crowd, one
that most likely has never seen or heard of the first films. And
as far as the older audience is concerned, most will probably
not care, thus dwindling an already small fan base. Now you have
already lost revenue before shooting a single frame of film thus
ensuring a smaller opening box office return,

I honestly think what's happening is that the execs in charge
are about our age (and I'm including Mac, even though he's older
than I am), and they're basically trying to recreate the VHS
collection they had when they were young. That's it. That's
why we're getting all these remakes. Ninja Turtles,
Ghostbusters at some point, Bad Boys 3, Rush Hour 4 they wanna
make (Jackie doesn't want to, thank god)...

What the f*ck?! Why? There is no demand for either to get
another installment. Both franchises are DOA.

So are the stars if they hold off making the flicks any
longer...
Sure, there's no demand from US, the audience, but the studio
would rather make Bad Boys 3 and Rush Hour 4 than Original
Franchise 1. The executive's primary mission is not to get
fired, that's why you go for what seems like a sure thing, every
time.
