Meh. I don't know what the deal is, but so far this season, it's
kinda sucked. Overkill? Lazy writing? Who the f*ck knows. All I
do know is two things. 1) I really can't stand the characters
right now and 2) If the writers don't get their sh*t together,
this will in fact be the last season. It's just been dull so far
and I'm actually thinking about bailing on the show right now. I
will tune in next week. But they have a uphill climb because if
they don't knock it out of the park....I will walk away from
       Nashville.

Better episode than the first 2, but not by much. There is just
something off about what has aired so far this season. Can't
quite put my finger on it at the moment. I can however say that
one of the problems for me not connecting with the show right
now is that they have gone away from the Rock influenced music
to straight up Country. I don't like Country music and that was
the one thing I was concerned about the series before I started
it. But the first two seasons produced some great tunes in the
Rock genre. Now it seems they can just go the other extreme and
not have people like myself complain about it. Oh well. About
this episode in particular, even though I knew about Alexa
PenaVega having a small role, I totally forgot that she was in
fact coming on and it didn't register with me until the final
scene in the diner that the girl Kiley was being played by
       Alexa.

I like that Laura Benanti has joined the cast of Nashville
(starting with last weeks episode). I just wasn't sure if it was
for an extended stay. But after this episode, she does look to
be around for awhile. It was just a bonus that her signing with
Route 66 Records at the expense of Jeff Fordham. Who doesn't
like it when a assh*le like him gets what's coming to him. This
will obviously start a war with Rayna once he is able to sign
her daughters to his record company, which ironically enough is
what I think the show needs right now. Definitely going to get
some mileage out of that plot for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully. Getting back to Benanti, I was wondering what became
of her after the cancellation of one of my favorite comedies in
the last couple of years. That would be Go On

If it wasn't for the last 5 minutes of the episode, this would
have been a complete waste of my time. I can't stand Will's
story or Layla's as well. Both need to just go away and stop
taking up precious time that others could be making good use of.
Getting a bit tired of Avery's drunk spiral. Okay, I get it, she
did you wrong. Man up and move on. The only thing that saves
this episode was Gunner finding out he has a 9 year old son,
which is not going to sit well with Zoey. Speaking of which, we
get our own Wally Pipp/Lou Gehrig story when Juliette succumbs
on stage due to her pregnancy and without skipping a beat, Zoey
comes in and becomes the star she has been building toward to.
Should make for a goog story arc when she feels the wrath of
       Juliette.

The one thing that is dragging this show down the drain is the
insistence of keeping the Will / Layla story going. It's boring
as f*ck and a cliche. Ditch is once and for all and find
something else to write about. As for the rest of the episode,
it was average. I did like one scene in particular and that was
when Deacon did an impromptu song at Luke's party, totally
p*ssing him off. Loved it. Really curious to see what they are
going to do with Mykelti Williamson's character. My guess it
will be a rags-to-riches plot that revolves around him getting
credit for helping right a few lyrics for Scarlet's song that is
       sure to go #1.

It's one step forward and then three steps back this year. I
don't know what it is exactly, but this season has more weak
episodes than solid ones. Poor writing is definitely one of the
problems and the characters are just boring as f*ck. They aren't
do anything at all. Season 1 was a knock out punch. Season 2
held its own and this season has been flat. If the writers don't
get their sh*t together, this is definitely going to be the
final season. With that said, my prediction of Mykelti
Williamson's character is starting to bear fruit. I know he
would be the catalyst to get Scarlet back on stage and deal with
       her stage fright.

A lot of average episode so far this season. But this one was
actually quite good. I've seen a lot of awards shows (Grammy's,
American Music, MTV, etc...). But I have never ever seen the CMT
Awards show. Even though this wasn't really an awards show, the
entire episode was set at the CMT's and it was fun. I think the
joy came from watching Luke Wheeler getting his ass handed to
him and the fact that Rayna kept praising Deacon as her writing
partner. I can't stand the Luke character, so, seeing him lose
his cool was perfect. It was also fun to see Will lose too. I
liked the the entire episode was set in the world of an awards
show. I can't think of another series that has done that for a
full hour and been successful at it.

       Two Sides To Every Story

So, Nashville returned earlier this week from is mid-season
hiatus and was looking forward to catching the episode. Only
thing is that I realized that I hadn't seen the final two
episodes leading into the break. I think this was around the
time my TV crapped out and had to find a suitable TV as my
replacement and that took a couple of weeks which meant that all
my shows that I missed in that time were getting backed up. I
thought I had gotten all the episodes for Nashville in the bag.
I was wrong. So, I get another 2 episodes to watch. Kinda cool.
As for this episode, I thought it was hilarious with Juliette
stalking Avery with her sunglasses, hat and motorized
wheelchair, as that was going to conceal her identity.
Interesting turn of events for Layla. Was not expecting to see
her hooking up with Ford. I liked the idea of Scarlet stepping
into Gunner and Avery's band to save their audition. But it
comes at the price of Zoey leaving. No idea if she is off the
       show now.

Since I'm now catching up on the episodes I missed during the
first airing, I don't get to experience the long wait of
wondering what's gonna happen next. This is a cliffhanger
straight out of the box. The episode seemed to be cut faster
with really short scenes. A lot of information had to be told
with Juliette and Avery getting married (what the f*ck), Deacon
learning he has cancer, Gunner learning that Micah isn't his
son, but his dead brother is, Rayna calling off the wedding
(it's about f*cking time) and Layla swallowing a handful of
pills, face down in a pool, and Sadie getting pummeled by her Ex
Husband. Like I said, a lot of stuff happened.

With Rayna calling off the wedding, I found myself gloating at
Luke's meltdown. Can't stand the character or the actor and when
Deacon pops him in the face, it was icing on the cake. With
Deacon needing a liver transplant, it's clear that the only one
that is going to be able to save him is Maddie. Just curious how
they are going to play this. Will Teddy refuse to allow her to
do so because he still hates Deacon? I dunno. Speaking of Teddy,
       when is that h o o k e r going to make a play and blackmail
him? It's definitely coming. Just a question of when. As for the
whole Micah/Gunner plot, I seriously hope we never see that kid
again. He has to be at least 14-15 years old, but they were
making him act like he was 9 and it showed. The whole story-line
was a waste of time as it couldn't really go anywhere at all and
it was only a byproduct of getting rid of his mother.
