I just found out about CameraSim a couple of days ago and I am
VERY much looking forward to the release of this simulator.
There are a few web browser-based Camera Simulators that teach
you everything you need to know about Shutter, Aperture and ISO.
But CameraSim 3D takes it a step further and puts you into a
virtual world (very much like current gen quality environments
found in AAA Video games). Check out the preview to see how
awesome it looks and feels. It remains to be seen just how many
real-world situations will be in this Sim. The purpose is of the
sim is to not only teach you everything you need to know about
dSLR cameras, but to train you in how to approach each
photography situation you may run into in real life. I did shoot
the creator a note asking if things like Night Shooting, Surfing
(other high action sports), Waterfalls, Time Lapse photography
would be included. So far I haven't heard back. Don't expect to
either. Still looking forward to see what it does have.

Above link takes you right to the demo to test and play around
with. It's more of tutorial on how to use it on your computer.
Keyboard shortcuts and stuff. But it does offer a taste of
what's to come. The demo is for PC/Macs. Just like the first
version of the Sim (which isn't 3d btw), they will have apps for
Cell Phones and Tablets as well. So, you will be able to
practice your photography skills anywhere, any time and never
have to have a real camera on hand. How cool is that?
