Funny, I put it in my calendar to check out The Last Ship when
it arrived, which it did, last night on TNT, and up to about 15
minutes of the show, I wasn’t sure why I made a note.
After taking in the whole show, I know I remembered for good
reason. Like Lost’s pilot show, The Last Ship premiere was a
blast. It skirted a little on SyFy quality territory, but
overall was a great production. In the briefest of brief’s, The
Last Ship is about 2 doctors are sent on a battle ship to the
top of the world to find a cure of a deadly virus outbreak.
Things quickly get out of hand and 80% of the world’s population
is dead or dying. No working governments. The people on the ship
due to their isolation missed getting infected.
There’s plenty of action. Some pretty decent characters and
plenty of food for thought.
The on con… commercials. I was blown away… no seething with the
amount of commercials they crammed into this hour. I suspect the
show was only 35-40 minutes long.
I’ll be keeping an eye for ‘On-demand’. Crossing my fingers with
regards to commercial-less and consistent quality program.

Ya might like it despite the Michael Bay association. :P

I just got finished watching the Pilot episode and I'm already
on board with the series (pun not intended). My biggest concern
given that this is a Michael Bay production was that it was
going to be a big, loud, dumb excuse to blow sh*t up. Sorry, but
that's a reputation he has personally cultivated and crafted for
himself. So any ridicule that comes his way is justified.
Surprisingly, The Last Ship (based on just one episode) is none
of the that. While watching this episode, one can't help but
compare it to Last Resort

/>Ironic that both have similar titles, take place entirely on a
Battleship and basically have the same "plot" in a 'Us Vs. Them'
scenario. That's where the similarities end because the
objective is different. There is one thing that is definitely
sure to happen in the future of the series that will have people
saying it's even more like Last Resort is the eventual mutiny
that is all but set up to happen and will most likely be
perpetrated by Adam Baldwin's character. The show is also nice
timing in Rhona Mitra as the "savior" of the show. Most recently
got my Mitra fix in Nip/Tuck.

Mutiny.... Hey I was thinking the same thing.
Look babe... A mutiny is in the future of this show.
