Paramount has got balls the size of Grape Fruits to allow any
first time director access to their biggest and most profitable
       franchise.

I can't believe that I live in a world now where I'm actually
dreading the release of a new Star Trek movie. It's going to be
       so bad.

Bob Orci doing Star Trek, JJ doing Star Wars... we need a third
party science fiction spaceship movie NOW!

What else is out there? A big budget Battlestar Galatica with
the 2.0 cast? I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

Oh, we also have Jupiter Ascending and Guardians Of The Galaxy,
which I can't wait to see. So... nevermind.
Boy, it's REALLY saying something that the Wachowskis, the guys
who created THE MATRIX, are doing their own space opera and I
haven't heard ANYONE talk about how excited they are for it
because Guardians Of The Galaxy is coming out a few weeks later.

Definitely looking towards Guardians Of The Galaxy. As for the
Brothers, I haven't heard dick about anything regarding
production or casting. Nada. Had totally forgotten about it till
you brought it up just now. What does that say about the state
       of their affairs?

It could be a Wonderswan type of thing: you can do everything
right, get the best components, push the right envelopes, have
the best product, and still fail.
I think the big difference between the two projects is that
Jupiter looks big and grandiose and gorgeous, but Guardians
looks FUN. Sure, it looks cheaper, it's more colourful, the
cast isn't as famous and it isn't well known, but it looks like
so much fun. Movies always underestimate the importance of fun.

I haven't been posting to much sci-fi stuff, because well,
there's so much. There has been only a handful of stories
regarding Jupiter. But the brothers have always been that way.
Just give you a basic idea and then later drop it on us.
I take a wait and see attitude with the bros. because their last
two projects sucked in monumental ways.

Although to be fair to Jupiter, a lot of the ink I've been
seeing for Guardians (before the trailer hit, at least) was how
every "insider" was expecting it to be Marvel's first flop, that
it didn't have a chance because it was based on a comic even
comic book fans don't know anything about, that it was too weird
       and different.
Until the movie screens, all the articles are usually columns
dedicated to one or two little pieces of new information,
       rampant speculation, or just hype.
