Help Selling a DVD
By: Mac Date: December 21, 2013, 11:11 am

A little help here...
I'm slowly cleaning out my DVD's and I've had the live DVD of
Poco "Crazy Love" since it's been released. It's a great concert
except it's not Blu-ray and honestly my criteria for watching
has matured. I get frustrated watching it.
Anyway, apparently it's become hard-to-find. Rare. Right now
it's going on Amazon (3rd party sellers) for $135+

I would love to unload this for a big profit.
I don't know if I could sell it on Amazon? I could ebay and
craigslist. Ebay, I'm not sure about either.
Anyway, thoughts?

I've been selling most of my DVDs on eBay for awhile now and
have had great success doing so. You will get more eyeballs on
there than you will anywhere else. Selling used items on Amazon,
especially OOP stuff is very hard to do because no one will pay
OOP prices for something that has no picture beyond that of
stock images. Last bit of advice, which I brought up last time
with regards to your Tshirt is to go with a 7 day auction and
add $50 - $100 more than what you will be comfortable selling it
at. This way you will be able to see how much traffic it's
generating and people will email with Buy It Now offer. The rest
is up to you after that. Last thing, NEVER and I mean
NEEEEEEEVER put an item up with a start price of .99 cents just
so that you can see people trying to outbid each other. It means
nothing if they stop bidding around 4 bucks and then you are
sh*t out of luck and take a huge hit financially.
For me, I always go with Auction with the Buy It Now options.
That means I set an opening bid auction price (something I'm
happy to sell it at) and in my Buy It Now option, it has to be
at least 30% more than your opening bid. Most of the time people
end up buying my item at the Buy It Now price which means even
more money in my pocket.

Gonna move this to the Bargain Bin Section since it's more about
selling and less about music.

Thanks a ton Chip.
I'm not clear on your Buy It Now... can you give me an example?
Oh, thanks for moving... makes more sense.

One of the DVDs I'm selling here
HTML http://www.ebay.com/itm/Modern-Family-The-Complete-First-Season-DVD-Ed-ONeill-Julie-Bowen-/221337138709?pt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&hash=item3388b8b615.
On the page you will see two prices, the Starting bid in which
people can come in a bid after the first bid has been placed or
the Buy It Now price where a seller can just as it says 'Buy it
Now' and skip the waiting game and headache of worrying about
another buyer coming in an outbidding them.

What costs do I as the seller incur?

There's the rub. eBay charges, or more to the point rapes their
Buyers 10% of the final cost and Pay Pal does the same with 3%
of cost. FYI, eBay owns Pay Pal. So they are essentially raping
you twice. That's why I suggest you ask for more on your item to
offset those charges. The only reason why I use eBay is because
they have the most subscribers with translate into more views
which of course increases my chance of selling an item. You can
always use Craigslist for free, but you run the risk of having
to ask for far less as well as less people seeing your item.

I put it on craigslist yesterday... what the heck.
I'll try ebay later today probably... Maybe not. Maybe to many
people are caught up in the holiday's.
After the new year

Well, I did it. Let's see if I remotely know what I was doing.
;)
Does this work?
