Completely forgot about last seasons cliffhanger and even with
the recap, I was still somewhat lost. The big twist for this
episode wasn't all that surprising. I actually figured out
midway through the episode that the one behind the kidnapping
and murders would of course turn out to be Brass' on own
daughter Ellie. Seems a little too far fetched and that they
decided to make her the puppet master at the last second.

I'm still watching CSI, just not reviewing it as I use to. This
weeks episode was particularly interesting and really good. It
was the 300th episode and this brought back Marg Helgenberger
via 'flashback' sequences involving a case that has remained
unsolved going back the year 2000, just prior to the show.
Special guest star was Jason Preistely. I really enjoyed the
story and it was a good twist tying the previous crime scene to
that of the current crime scene (same residence). This being the
300th episode made the epilogue all the more sweeter seeing a
montage of a lot of scenes from the history of the show and
seeing Grissom was awesome.....even if it was just old footage.
Side note:
I thought it was odd that George Eads was missing from the
episode and I realized that he was gone from last weeks as well.
So, did a little digging to find out that he has been suspended
from appearing on the show for the first half of this season due
to an argument he had with a show runner about his character. If
he doesn't come back, this may be the final straw for the show
that has already lost key actors from the series. It's not even
close to the same and that's why it was a hoot to see the
montage because it was a reminder of what the show use to be.

Yes....still watching CSI. Before even going into this episode,
I saw a 15 second promo hyping that Patricia Arquette was
guest-starring. Even with the barest of details about what the
episode would be, my first thought screamed "Backdoor Pilot".
So, I settled into was Kitty and the more it played, the more I
SCREAMED "Backdoor Pilot" and I couldn't have been happier. I
seriously miss having Arquette on TV. I miss Medium. She's not
playing the same type of character though. She is a Cyber
Detective and the case that she is currently working on takes
her to Vegas and more importantly, face to face with the gang
that makes up the CSI team. I really enjoyed the episode and her
character. It's definitely a show I would be interested in
watching if this is in fact a new series. Gonna have to check on
that......

[center]'CSI' ratings up for Patricia Arquette's pilot: Should
it get a series order?

So far it doesn't look like a series order has been placed. I
think this was just a way to gauge audience reaction to see if
they should proceed further. I say 'Yes'.

Immortality: Part 1 & 2

The episode I have been waiting for years to happen finally came
to fruition. It was great seeing William Petersen, Marg
Helgenberger and Paul Guilfoyle returning to their iconic roles
to share screen time with Jorja Fox and Eric Szmanda. This alone
should have made this an easy 5 Star episode. But it's two
omissions that made this very incomplete. Where the f*ck was
Elizabeth Shue? Sure, she wasn't part of the original cast, but
she was a great addition for the past few seasons. But the
biggest omission was the no-show by George Eads who has been
with the series from the start. This is a hollow reunion because
of that. Sucks. Oh well.
As for the the Two-hour Series Finale, as great as it was to see
most of the gang together again, the story episode was put
together poorly. Highlighting that Melinda Clarke was returning
as Lady Heather in the heavily promoted TV Spots all but ruined
her "surprised" death scene when she hasn't even shown herself
on camera yet. So, I knew it was someone else posing as her. The
other big blunder was seeing that out of all the suspects being
questioned, there was Doug Hutchison in the middle of the pack.
Pretty much gives away who the villain is mid-way to the ending.
But that's not the biggest issue I have. You can't bring back an
actor that has already appeared on the show and was killed off
10 years ago or however long ago it was. I hate it when shows do
this because it breaks the "reality" of said show. Overall, with
these quibbles I have, it was a decent send off for the series.
At least Grissom and Sara got their happy ending and rode off
into the sunset together.
