Low Winter Sun as the title suggest is being touted as the heir
apparent to the greatest TV show of all time. Even though I
didn't watch the broadcast of the Pilot, I can't relate to the
negativity of the viewers toward the show before it aired. I
just think it's foolish on the part of AMC to make this series
carry the weight of replacing Breaking Bad, just as the review
suggest. I did however just watched the first episode via AMC
YouTube channel. More on the episode in question........

Okay, for a few weeks all I have been hearing about the upcoming
series Low Winter Sun was how the show would continue in the
tradition of Breaking Bad by focusing on a morally corrupt
person, who just so happens to be a Cop. The very first scene of
the Pilot shows Frank (Mark Strong) and another cop, Joe (Lennie
James) killing and then disposing the body of a third person.
The third person in question also happens to be a cop from their
department, more to the point, Joe's partner. They set the bar
pretty high in establishing both characters. Frank seems to have
somewhat of a conscience and some guilt while Joe is of the
mindset "better him than me" as Internal Affairs is closing in
on the Department looking for evidence of corrupt cops on the
take.
I actually liked the episode and there is definitely plenty to
work with. I just hope that AMC gives the series a chance and
doesn't balk at the realizations that this series will not bring
in the same numbers that Breaking Bad does. Once in a lifetime
show that is going to be nearly impossible to replicate,
especially with Low Winter Sun.

I think I watched the second episode and it was so slow and dull
that I never made it all the way to the end and just gave up on
the series after that. No wonder it got canned.
