We are on the same page Mac. I grabbed Avatar and Sky about an
hour ago. The others, putting them down now. I remember The
Matix as being one of the more visually stunning framing in
films. That should be a good one. Thanks dude.

Never seen Renaissance: Paris, but I like the idea of why you
chose it. I want to expand my stuff to include extreme contrast,
negative space, shading, etc... That's why I'm also adding
Jurrasic Park and King Kong to the mix because it will force me
to draw beast, animals and the like.

I really should focus on extreme angles and so on, so many of my
doodles are studies of faces more than bodies... I do draw from
a LOT of screencaps, though.

I got the idea from you.

Dunno if I should be proud or worried that the benefit of
copying is the thing I've imparted on other people.
If you're gonna draw from caps, go look around Vimeo as well.
And definitely keep an eye out for stuff like martial arts and
ballet, drawing that taught me a lot.

[center]Thirty Second Drawings
HTML http://www.posemaniacs.com/thirtysecond
Pretty cool drawing tool/exercise. Posemaniac has this 30 Second
Drawing animatic. Once you click Start, you get 30 seconds to
draw whatever pose they put up there for you. It's all about
hitting the gestures and getting down the most important lines
before being forces to move onto the next pose. Give it a shot.
Helps immensely.

Don't want to stela your thunder, but I doubt this really
warrants its own thread, but I finally started a tumblr for my
less "showy" art.
HTML http://sketchysketchies.tumblr.com/
There's just so much stuff
I do that's not gallery worthy (or DA worthy) but still kind of
interesting, so I thought Tumblr would make a more suitable
platform for them. I'm not going to update it every day, but
I'm sure it'll be more frequent than my DA posts.

No worries. Looks good. As for myself, I'm toying with the idea
of doing video sketchbooks. You know what I'm getting at.
Artists basically just videotape themselves flipping through a
finish sketchbook. The reason why I want to start doing that is
that even though they are just "sketches in a book", one tends
to take a more professional approach to it, even in a loose
state of gesture drawings. I have found that if I just use scrap
paper, which is what I've been doing, I tend to be sloppy and
it's counter productive. With the sketchbook in mind, I will be
putting my best foot forward, even if they won't be 'finished'
drawings by any stretch of the imagination.

See, for me my art become better and more interesting once I
decided it was okay to be sloppy, it lets me experiment.
