Hahaha. They almost got me......but not quite. Pretty sneaky on
their part. At first when Nikita managed to location Amanda's
location and come face to face with her, I was immediately
asking myself why are they going there with 2 episodes left? And
then when Nikita orders an air strike on the compound, blowing
it up....along with Amanda, I of course blurted out "what the
f*ck". But as soon as I said that, I had a smirk on my face when
I figured out that the Amanda that got blown to bits was a
double....a fake. I'm just happy I figured it out before the big
reveal at the end of the episode. Nicely played. Only two
episodes left. :'(

Damn, this episode was goooooood. With Nikita and the gang under
protection of the United States (perks of rescuing the real
POTUS and bringing her back home), Congress sets about making
her a Hero to the American public. This was all nice and
whatnot, but there was a sense of impending doom. In the back of
my mind, I knew that someone on the team was going to have to
die in order to prove that Amanda was still alive.
Unfortunately, the sword fell on Ryan, who was captured by
Amanda. Somehow he gets the drop on her and manages to "escape",
only to get trapped in a room with no "exit".....save for one. I
knew what the outcome was going to be, that he would throw
himself out of a window 5 stories high. His goal was to kill
himself to keep Amanda from creating a clone of Ryan to use
against Nikita. Miraculously he survived the fall. He lived long
enough to whisper everything he has learned into the ear of
Nikita.
That sets up what's coming. Nikita and company assemble for one
last mission: to kill Amanda. NOW it's personal and I'm
anxiously awaiting the Series Finale. Gonna watch it now, as
soon as I'm done typing this................

Obviously the first thing that came into my mind during the
first episode of this 'Remake' of La Femme Nikita was "how will
THIS one end". And over the course of the next 4 seasons, that
has always remind front and centered in my head. And ya know
what, I didn't have a clue how they would wrap up this
incredible ride. This has been one of the most consistently
enjoyable series for me to watch in the last 4 years. I just
wish it could and would have gone on longer.
As for the Series Finale, I am very happy how it was all tied
together. I kinda suspected (but wasn't entirely sure) that the
gang turning on Nikita was nothing more than a ruse to trick
Amanda and lure her in for the trap. When it was revealed to be
just that, there was a smug look on my face as I nodded in
agreement. Game. Set. Match. I even like the fact that Nikita
chose not to kill her too. How fitting was it that she would be
locked away.....in the 'basement' at the very end. Plus, it does
leave it open for a theatrical film down the road should they
ever decide to go there.
I really enjoyed the epilogue telling us that Alex and Owen were
working together (he as her bodyguard and of course dating as
well), Birkhoff releasing information to the general public (ala
Edward Snowden) and Nikita and Michael eloping and on their
honeymoon in Ecuador. But then, they are still fighting the good
fight as they chase off after a guerilla soldier who is forcing
little kids to take up arms. I like that there is always another
job to take care of for those two.

With the show officially in the books, I will be moving all the
Nikita threads to TV's Greatest Hits and Misses. Emphasis on the
word HITS, which this absolutely was for me.
