I caught this interview live earlier today. Pretty good
interview with Maggie Q. She is already making me miss the show.
It just sucks that we are only getting 6 episodes to wrap up the
series, but I'm supremely grateful to even be getting this 6.
The CW could have just said "f*ck it and screw the fans" and not
giving the writers and actors a proper send off to wrap up all
the loose ends for the series' arc and of course us fans. I'm
just hoping that the series can be revived with a movie series
down the road.

My original intent was to hold off on watching Season 4 until
all the episodes were up so that I could do a binge marathon.
But, it's Nikita and I have no patience apparently. I've waited
a long time for this season to arrive. I managed to hold off for
3 episodes before I caved in. Wanted was a great episode to jump
back into the series. I just wished they did a "...previously on
Nikita" update because it took a few minutes of trying to piece
together and remember some of the vital plot points of the
Season 3 Finale. This episode picks up 100 days after last
seasons epic episode that saw POTUS blowing her own brains out.
Naturally Nikita would be in hiding and that the entire world
would after her with a $30 Million bounty on her head. Divsion
obviously is no more. So the rest of the gang is scattered as
well, but still doing what they always use to do. Tracking and
running ops. With Nikita revealing her whereabouts for the first
time since being on the run, that gives the gang the chance to
help and retrieve Nikita. Only one problem....Amanda. She is one
step ahead and thwarts a huge ally. I thought the Newscaster Guy
was going to be the one that would dig up he truth and exonerate
Nikita. Nope. Blown to bits and the one that planted the bomb
was the head of the FBI. I suspected from the get go that he was
working for Amanda. I was right. Fantastic episode.

The series has always felt more long an extended movie than a
typical show on broadcast TV. Sure, they also have their stand
alone episodes before each new arc. But given that this is the
final batch of episodes used to tie up all the loose ends, it
has taken on an even more epic feel to it. I'm only 2 episodes
in and already I'm loving where they are taking this. It
definitely feels like a big budget film with how it transitition
from episode 1 to that of episode 2 and my guess it will
continue down this path until the finale. They don't have the
luxury of stand alone episode with so many loose ends. This
episode as already mentioned was epic in Nikita and company
going head to head with Amanda. It's a chess game and one one
side gets the upper hand, the other side comes up with an even
bigger play.
I liked how Matthew Graham (Alex Carter) played a very big part
in this episode. Wasn't sure what they were going to do with his
character and based on the previous episode, I figured he would
have minor role. Nope. It was pretty big in moving the plot
along and sets up with will play out over the next few episodes.
It's nice to see Alex Carter in something other than CSI. Too
bad his run on Nikita was short-lived though. Nice to see Owen
working with Alex. But that too went up in smoke once she was
captured, leaving him and Sonya on the run. Not sure if he set
Alex up so that he could separate the two and have Sonya to
himself to decrypt that magic wand scanner or whatever the hell
it is.

Fantastic episode that dives into Birkhoff's background where we
learn that his name is in fact an alias and that his father
plays a big part in 'The Shop' and the thorn that has been
pricking Nikita and the gang all along. I thought it was a good
choice to have Judd Nelson playing his father. Curious to see
how this plays out now that his doppelganger has been silenced
and if Birkkhoff will have his reunion with him. I loved
watching them communicate with each other by way of hidden codes
on the computer. Very cool. As for Owen/Sam, I'm still not
convinced that he is back to being 'good'. There is still some
ulterior motive at work and I fully expect him to try and
back-stab everyone again.
