Jake says his first words at the start of the episode and then
smiles at the end. I guess he is finally coming out of his
shell. Well, it will be slow to say the least, but I like seeing
that and hearing there is progress on his part. This episode was
more about introducing new characters than anything else. We
have Frances Fischer (small cameo last week), Mykelti Williamson
and Samantha Whittaker joining the cast. They each look to have
a bigger role planned for them. Guillermo Ortiz served his
purpose in relaying information to Martin about the 'nest of the
seven' before taking his own life. One thing I find curious is
that Avram is obviously hiding knowledge of the seven from
Martin. I always suspected he knew more than we have been led to
believe.

Poor Avram, I guess that's what you get for trying to protect
Jake. Martin was being way too irrational. He absolutely should
know better that there is no "keeping Jake on a leash". If Jake
wants to investigate numbers or anything else, he will do just
that. When has Martin ever been able to reel him in and keep him
in place? Exactly.

There is so much potential in what to do story-wise with the
series. But I've heard the likelihood of the series coming back
for a third season is pretty much out the window. So, with how
they ended this episode with Jake and Amelia getting kidnapped
by Astor Corp, I'm not confident that they are going to be able
to tie up all the loose ends with just one episode left. And
there is of course the story involving Avram as well, which too
looks like its got a big hill to climb in resolving that.

Yep. Just as I suspected, the show was already cancelled. With
such short turn around time, I highly doubt we are going to get
a satisfying conclusion. Ugh.

With the show being cancelled, my fear was that we wouldn't get
any kind of closure on the series. Well, the wrapped everything
up. But I wouldn't say it was to my satisfaction. Everything was
ramped up exponentially that it just felt incredibly forced. It
wrapped up a little too fast if you ask me. Beggars can't be
choosers. At least nothing is hanging over the characters and
the viewers heads wondering "what next". Anyway, time to bring
on 24.........
