I'm all for releasing newly discovered music. But what I don't
like are "reinterpretations" or mash-ups because that to me is
just a way to pad out a disc and save other "discovered" music
for additional CD's down the road, which means they get to
charge you twice for what could have gone on the previous
release.

reading about these concerts and heard they were pretty
successful.

Apparently... from evidence of the Pink Floyd and Kansas
postings I made earlier, the big thing this holiday season in
music is entire sets from artists. Not just greatest hit
packages, but entire catalogs.
Expanded projects too like the Pink Floyd immersion sets and

This is really the only way the record companies can "make"
money by offering stuff that you can' download. It's kind of
going back to that mentality during the 70's of offering fans
something they couldn't get anywhere else, which is something
that KISS did with great fanfare back in the day. All I need is
John Denver rub-on tattoo's included for me to buy his Mega-Set.

Rush puts out more long form videos than anyone else I know and
they are usually of the highest caliber and not some quick cash
grab either.

Concert Sets from the US Festival. The first two releases were
on November 15 for Willie Nelson

Hmmmmm. I gotta give Gene and Paul credit where credit is due. I
think even they knew that a Volume 4 set featuring just stuff
with Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer would not sell as well. So,
what they have done is gone back to the vault from all
incarnations of the band to give it a good variety of material
to satisfy those long time KISS fans. Ahem. Still remains to be
seen what the bonus disk will be at Amazon, Best Buy and
Walmart. Not sure about Target getting one yet. To be released
late November, just in time for Xmas.
