A year? I never heard of any band or singer selling tickets a
year in advance. The longest I've had to wait from Day 1 sale to
showtime was about 4 months tops.

Not really a concert... but ya, I guess it was.
Last night, my wife and I went to our local outdoor amphitheater
to watch one of the more prominent local bands... Dr. Zhivegas

I saw them about 2 years ago when I was working our Zoo Charity.
The only thing I was impressed with was the sound and stage
presence. They are an entertainment group.
Last night, I got to watch them closely. I knew about 3/4 of the
songs. All very current and pop. Again, sounded very good, but
as I looked around, they didn't move the meter on these folks
very much. Maybe that's do to the nature of an outdoor event.
Maybe this was not Dr. Zhivegas crowd. I was mildly entertained.
And honestly a little miffed. The band consists of a guitarist,
drummer, bass and two vocalist. The songs they played were
filled with keyboards and spectacular percussion. These guys
were not playing that. They were, but it was all recorded. They
filled in the basics. And with my thoughts on lip synching, I
just thought, you cheaters.
But you know what. I'm sure I'm one of the few that noticed and
let alone, care. They are popular. They bring in the crowd and
get the job done.
I need to figure out how our band can learn from this.
