       Admittedly, this is more on pictures and illustrations than
       reading. But this is one of the best collection of Monsters in a
       book I've seen in quite sometime. As Landis says, this is NOT an
       exhaustive collection. Just the ones he remembers and wants to
       talk about. His interviews with key people like Harryheusen,
       Baker, Carpenter and others, balance this beautiful coffee table
       sized book out.

       How far back does this book go? No Lon Chaney?

       It's pretty comprehensive and yes cover's the man of thousand
       faces

       Though I'm not very far into it its an awful lot of fun reading
       about the early days of the Seattle "grunge" scene.

       Only thing I know about the Doc is from what I read in
       Entertainment Weekly. It's directed by Cameron Crowe, which
       makes this an automatic winner and a must-see in my book.
